For the last three and a half years, I have conducted the eternal test of doom on the best gaming PC, best gaming laptop and best gaming monitor I have reviewed. It is one of the best customized PC games and provides me with a solid foundation when detecting the performance of the device. Now that I have doom: The Dark Age, I have started using that game for my real test.
I installed Doom: Alienware Area -51 Dark Age on Gaming PC. I was absolutely surprised by the results.
The experience I have experienced here while testing the doom: RTX 5090 Dark Edge on Gaming PC, some lower-end RTX 50-series with additional test numbers from GPU.

As you can see above, you do not require a super beef PC for doom: The Dark Edge. It is a will how well the game is adapted for PC.
Now that we know that the game can run well on old hardware, let’s see how it is rent on a top-line RTX 5090 machine.
RTX 5090 Experience
Alienware Area -51 I tested the doom: The dark edge has glasses as demons as demons on the dark age. This includes RTX 5090 graphics card, an Intel Ultra Core 9 285k CPU, 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD. This is as the top level as you can get for a gaming PC. So, how well can the dark era walk on this machine?
On Ultra Nightmier Graphical Settings with 4K resolution and DLSS frame generation, I got doom: Dark Age 155 frames per second! I am able to achieve doomt eternal to hit such a number on RTX 40-series PC, but it was with DLSS. But given that it is an RTX 5090 with which we are working, I cannot say that I was surprised by the results.
However, when I enabled DLSS 4 x4 and saw that the frame rate is as high as 344, I was amazed! They are frame rates you will only see with graphical settings, all the ways down and only a few selected games, such as counter-stroke: Global aggressive 2.
Do you need doom: 344 frames to walk on seconds per second? Not really, because it is a slow -running offline game that does not require crazy reflex. Running a game in such a high frame helps to make smooth performance to ensure, but you will only need FPS that is high to begged. Nevertheless, they are not ridiculed on numbers! Doom: The dark era running on RTX 5090 PC is not a joke!
Test other RTX 50 cards
Our own Jason England tested the doom: Dark Age with various NVidia GPU, in particular, RTX 5070 TI, RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 TI. He placed these graphics cards inside the same tower, which packs an AMD Rvenne 7 9800x3D CPU, 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD.
Although Jason did not see astronomical numbers, as I did on the Alienware Area -51 PC, the results were generally good for the great. Naturally, Lower-end RTX 5060 TI saw the lowest FPS count, especially no DLSS4 capable at 4K resolution. However, with DLSS 4 on, this card punched over its weight class, reaching a respectable 153 FPS at 4K resolution with DLSS 4.

The big winner of this group was RTX 5070 TI. Without DLSS, the dark era followed the 52 frames per second, which is expected from the desired 60fps gamers themselves. Flipping DLSS 4 delivers FPS to 185FPS, which is unprecedented.
DLSS 4 is required to experience doom: The dark era at the high frame rate on these lower-end GPUs. And don’t worry about experienceing delay with DLSS, as the AI-managed NVDia reflex technique in these GPUs helps eliminate any delays used to plague the AI-frame generation. Turn on DLSS 4 and give yourself a good time!
Ground level
As expected, Doom: The Dark Edge is a fine-tune game designed to run beautifully on most modern gaming PCs. This now converts the doom into a test of my Go-to game, and I am eager to see how it performs on a variety of gaming PCs and laptops.
So do you own a PC with an RTX 50-series GPU, or something old, doom: The dark era is a ton fun. But if you have a rig of RTX 5090 of Nvidia, then you are going to be a hell of a good time.
