As our in-house drone specialist, I take care of my best drone guides and I push them to the limit and test the latest drones. This includes analyzing each facility, checking the quality of the image/video, building the quality and checking the battery claims when correct. But what is good without a controller? There are some types of drone controllers:
- Smartphone Mount Wale (eg DJI RC-N3DJI Neo)
- Motion Controller (RC Motion 3 with DJI Goggles N3)
- With screen (such as for DJI RC -2 DJI Air 3S)
- With Press the button Screen (DJI RC Pro 2 like DJI Mavik 4 Pro)
The last of these, DJI RC Pro 2, is completely new, and it was with the launch of DJI Mavik 4 Pro. This is the first drone that I have ever given a 5-star rating, and there are many reasons for this. 100MP Hasselblad Stills, 6K/60fps Video, Next-Gyrie Burning Permahar, and RC Pro2.
RC Pro 2 is the most powerful consumer controller of the brand yet, and it is not cheap. Currently not available in the US (as DJI continues to assess its market strategy to suit local conditions), it retails it for it. £ 879 in UK But for those who want to increase their flight experience, it is worth the premium for them – let me show you why.
Flying made easy
Unlike the DJI RC-N3, DJI RC-2 and so on, DJI RC Pro2 has a flip-up screen and detects the attached joystics and buttons from pulling it. It also raises the controller (and when you push the screen down to sleep), so you do not need to press a specific button to power up. This takes a step from the prep process so that you can fly almost immediately.
It has no sugar: DJI Mavik 4 Pro is one expensive Drone, for retailing £ 1,879 in UK For drone and RC -2 controller. If you want RC Pro2, you can get a creator combo that also adds 512 GB internal storage to the drone, £ 3,209The good news is that RC Pro 2 is compatible with other drones that support vertical shoots – such as Air 3S, Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro.
Even better is that the RC Pro sinks with a gimbal of 2 drones, so it rotates the drone vertically vertically from rotating, manually rejects the need to tolerate orientation. I think this is a very little feature. I swap between consistent horizontal and vertical shoots, and the rotation of the RC Pro2 looks smooth as butter.
RC Pro 2 is also brilliant Consumer controller. It has a extreme brightness of 2,000 nits and a continuous brightness of 1,600 notes (maximum brightness that can maintain for an extended period of time without a display overheating). For reference, RC -2 has a maximum brightness of 700 NITs. This is why I could see the screen even on a very sunny day.
It also accurately displays 10-bit D-Log/D-Log M colors such as the drone records them-and what you will see while editing footage in Adobe Premier Pro or Devi resolution. Overall, RC Pro 2 creates for a great viewing experience that is contrary to any other.
Limest means material manufacturing machine
A concrete reason is that DJI RC Pro 2 DJI Mavik is part of the 4 Pro Creator Combo: it is an animal for videography and material manufacture. First, it has a dynamic home point support. For example, if you are controlling your drone with a moving vehicle, the RC Pro2 will continuously update the home point in real time, so when you need to get it down, it will shut down your vehicle.
You also get an HDMI port that you can use for livestream what your drone is watching (or your recorded footage) on a large screen, like one of the best TVs. There is also an internal storage of 128GB and also a slot for microSD card.

And what I really like is that RC Pro 2 has an underlying mike so that you can record audio while flying. DJI MIC series, such as the controller of the controller with DJI MIC 2 and DJI Mike Mini, but if you do not have access to these, at least you can record directly to the controller.
To top all this, for the first time, RC Pro2 has a third-party app support that acts like a regular tablet. You can download the video editing app on the controller for quick sharing on social media and edit the footage. This also means that you do not have to wait until you go back to your laptop to start the post-production process.
Since the controller uses a custom Android OS, you can install APK through the underlying browser or microSD card. I tested it by downloading Adobe Literoom Classic for photo editing and it acted like an attraction. The screen shows 10-bit colors which means it can show 1.07 billion individual colors, and it is also highly responsible, which edits a teach. I also downloaded Qobuz so that I could listen to music while editing!
Buy or leave? Purchase!
So, should you buy or leave DJI RC Pro 2? It depends on some things. If you are in America, you are out of luck (for now) but I hope it changes soon. If you are in the UK and want a controller that makes the material easier and fly more comfortably, yes, it is worth the money.
The fact that you can use third-party apps to quickly edit the material, listen to music while doing so, or even watch some YouTube videos between editing, makes RC Pro 2 a force to resume with a force. I am already eager to use it more over the weekend.
