I have said it earlier and I will say it again: My Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is amazing.
Whether I am doing gaming, taking selfies, watching a show, or reading a digital comic book, the foldable non-foldables such as Google Pixel 9 have a better overall experience than 9.
But this is not correct.
There are certainly ways in which it struggles-at least price-K-K -ney Department-but the Samsung Galaxy Z fold 7 is expected to land next month that a lot of rumors are roaming around which suggests that my favorite phone will get some serious upgradation.
Here are the four rumors Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 upgrade which I am the most excited to see.
1. A better camera
I remember going to dinner with friends sometime after receiving Z fold 6 and they had a lot of questions about it. The iPhone user was curious, but did not care for Android, and one of Android users felt that it was out of their budget.
Third, however, was eager to get one for myself – until I mentioned the camera.
I had to be honest and accept that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 would have a downgrade on his Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, and it was a deal breaker for him. And after testing folds against other devices like Google Pixel 9 Pro, it is a downgrade against most of the major phones, at least ignore its ability to take a rear-camera selfie.
“This will represent a serious jump from the 50MP main of the fold 6.
The only grip is that it appears that the S25 will not receive the rest of the ultra cameras; The Z fold 7 is rumored to place 12MP ultra-wide and 10MP telephoto with fold 6, rather than receiving 50MP versions S25 Ultra instead of receiving 50MP versions. What’s more, Smart Money says that it will also miss on 10MP telephoto in addition to Ultra.
Nevertheless, if it gets 200MP main, it would represent a major upgrade – so the fingers crossed it.
2. A big screen
Another mistake I (and other) is with Z fold 6 that its screen is a strange aspect ratio. This is a slight slimmer than a normal phone, which means that some apps may feel tight or cut-off on the sides when using the outer display.
Obviously, the big, fold-out display is just a fine size-wise-but you do not always want to reveal your foldable.
The Samsung Galaxy Z fold 7 finally is ready to create a more standard aspect ratio to the exterior screen of Samsung, while the current model makes it overall larger than 6.5 inch vs. 6.3.
In addition, the foldable screen is also rumored to be upgraded: it is said that it is currently going from 7.6 inches to 8 inches.
Somewhere else on the design, it is also in line to fall down to 4.5 mm when revealed (instead of 5.6 mm). Perhaps this is why rumors also say that the battery will not get an upgrade – which can be a little bad news in view of the big screen.
3. A more durable construction
It is rumored here that we feel at least confident here in Techradar, but it’s an upgrade that I will be very appreciated by Z fold if it is true: Better water and dust resistance.
It comes from a source that also teased large display shape, so it can be correct, but foldables have historically struggled to handle dust – or if they can overtake the dust, they lose water resistance.
The Z fold 6 has an IP48 rating; This means that it is mostly waterproofing as most other phones in the market, but can only leave the dust behind which is larger than 1 mm.
Some phones, including OnePlus 13, have defeated it with an IP69 rating. This means that a phone can keep all the dust out and not only a dip can escape from underwater, but also with high pressure water jets (if it is important for you). For day-to-day use, IP69 is more dust and waterproofing, as much as you will need to really.
Foldables naturally weakened that dust can enter the dust. I am not expecting an IP69 score, but an IP59 may be possible; This will maintain waterproofing seen in OnePlus 13, but with the ability to keep out small dust particles compared to IP48 offers.
This would mean that you still want to be careful with your foldable on the beach, but a trip to soak in the sun from the edge can probably not do the same way that it will be for the Galaxy Z fold 6.
4. A ui 8 box out
This is the last one dose.
It was very disappointing that many of us Samsung users had to wait for about a year from their announcement to get a UI 7 of Android 15 – more accurate Samsung, which is Samsung’s Android 15 adaptation.
This will not be a case for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, as it is said to come out of the box with a UI 8 (Android 16).
And who gave us this leaked information? None other than Samsung well, so it is really already confirmed.
Unfortunately there is no guarantee that Samsung will not eventually bot its UI 8 rollout for older devices, mimics a slow and slightly chaotic rollout of a UI7, but it is a big jump in the right direction to improve Samsung software support – and I am all for it.
