In addition to its small battery, a large business-closure that indicates many about the Galaxy S25 Edge, its camera system. Unlike the rest of the S25 lineup, the edge gets only a dual camera setup – a 200MP main sensor that is combined with 12MP ultravide.
The only thing that is deficient in S24 Edge is a dedicated telephoto camera, which should not be very bad, right?
Well, due to its $ 1,099 cost, it is difficult, which is not far from the $ 1,299 sticker price associated with S25 Ultra. Sammy’s flagship comes with two dedicated telephoto cameras, 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom and 50MP one with a slightly long 5x optical lens. They complement the 200MP main sensor of S25 Ultra and 50MP Ultravide.
There are clearly differences between them, but I mention in my Galaxy 25 Edge Review that its main camera performs as well as the S25 Ultra. Nevertheless, it is going to take more than that people can be understood that there is one to gain.
It is not surprising that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the best phone and the best camera phone that you can get now, its long battery is made better than life and S pen utility has been added.
I have taken both phones with me to catch the same scenes, then preview them on your computer to inspect their difference. This Galaxy S25 Edge vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra photo in face-offs, can be only one that comes out at the top.
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Day Time
After taking countless shots with your main cameras, I can say that their performances are more or less the same – which is a good thing. To see the huge lawn of the Bryant Park, it is almost difficult to separate the two because they are the same.
Both phones do an excellent job of highlighting the entire scene, including the shade around the trees in the background. Details in the foreground, bryint park with chairs like them and on wooden boxes, all look the same. Far from the background, surrounding buildings and skyscrapers hold all equal quantity in detail.
Winner: tie
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Ultravide
This is another reason that you cannot always assess a camera from its glasses. On paper, it seems that the S25 edge is in a disadvantage with its 12MP ultravide camera – especially against the 50mp ultravide packel of S25 Ultra. But since phone default reduces images up to 12MP, their performance looks very similar.
On the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street near Times Square, I indicated both cameras directly to see how many scenes they could hold. Even though Samsung has not disclosed its field of views, it appears that there is a wider on the ultra on the edge.
Meanwhile, the performance of the shot and the details throughout the scene, like the indication of the one way and the broadway left, all appear the same. But since there is a wide access to S25 Edge, I am winning it here.
Winner: Galaxy S25 Edge
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Color
Without switching on other color profiles, it is clear that Samsung’s signature style is clear how they produce colors by default. All this is about saturated tones with these shots inside the entire foods by the production section.
Many colors appear to be the same, such as yellow chili on the middle shelf and green squash on the right side. However, the top right and red chili S25 on the middle shelves are too much oversized with Ultra. I do not consider personally bad, but it is an unrealistic more than the edge – which is still saturated in tone in my opinion.
Winner: Galaxy S25 Edge
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Dynamic Range
There is no major difference in their main cameras, as these shots of Bryant Park under the trees provide the same exposure. I like how they prioritize exposure on trees, so the areas of shadow are slightly bright.
With buildings peeping from behind trees, they are more than two phones, but neither does anyone feel better or worse with it.
Winner: tie
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Panorama
Sticking with your main cameras to catch panorama (instead of your ultravide cam), this is another similar result between S25 Edge and S25 Ultra.
Most especially, they insert the same exposure from left to right – a little struggling with a bright spot in the middle, which they compensate for the shot starting from the left. That area was in shadow when I started the shot more than the rest, which explains the overaxpocer in the middle.
Winner: tie
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Selfie
Both phones have 12MP (f/2.2) selfie cameras, and I can say that they are the same. I really like how they hold the same fine details around my face, such as my hairline and minor stub.
S25 Edge and S25 Ultra capture the same details in my hoodie fabric. And in the end, I do not see any difference of how my skin tone looks – which receives exposure treatment to make me a little bright.
Winner: tie
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Portrait
With my colleague Ryan apps as my model, portrait shots from S25 Edge and S25 Ultra appear similar at first glance. When I shot these pictures in 2x zoom, proper subject-background separation occurs, as well as accurate blur around the edges of Ryan-which includes two areas between his arms that can sometimes hang some phones.
But when I zoom on her face, I notice an over-transporting effect applied to the S25 Ultra shot, which expands a little more. It is also worth indicative that S25 Ultra also provides portrait mode in 3x and 5X zoom, which I think are better suited for portraits. Conversely, I am locked in 1x or 2x zoom along the S25 edge.
Winner: Milky Way S25 Ultra
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Macro
One of the most complicated parts of capturing macro photos with both phones is focusing the same between them, as it actually gets closer to the subjects – and it is one of those examples. I would say, however, both phones take extraordinary macro shots that are enriched in detail.
Overall, I like how to get shots with this yellow flower. Not only the petals are well defined, but they also hold water drops around it. But it eventually comes down to focus, which in this case goes to the S25 edge.
Winner: Galaxy S25 Edge
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Zoom
So far in this Galaxy S25 Edge vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra photo shoot-out, it is a very close running, neither is anyone proving that its cameras are much better. But as I have already said, a dedicated telephoto camera deficiency with S25 Edge can be a big business for those who need to get closer.
I captured these telephoto shots on the 10x zoom, seeing that S25 Edge Max out – while S25 Ultra goes to a ridiculous 100x zoom.
Well, it is worth noting what they capture with a 5x optical zoom dedicated to S25 Ultra with more than 50MP telephoto and definition. I can exclude individual bricks and other decorative details around the building, which appear as more than the line details with the S25 edge.
For all adaptation and promotion applied with a shot of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, its performance may not just match the offering of an optical lens.
Winner: Milky Way S25 Ultra
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Low Light
Despite the rainy and wind conditions, the low light shots I captured with both phones distribute the same qualities – which I am not surprised how their main cameras behave. The view above was actually darker than images, which proves how well they are in illuminating dark conditions with their night mode.
I do not see a lot of difference between S25 Edge and S25 Ultra here, as they properly increase the risk to remove the details hidden around the tree, while also reduce the strong light source in the background. When it comes to low light, they can change any slow view and make them bright.
Winner: tie
Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Decision
Technically it is a tie after tieing the Galaxy S25 Edge vs. Galaxy S25 Ultra photo shoot-out results, but it’s not in my opinion. While the Galaxy S25 wins in categories such as edge colors and ultravide, its winning margin is narrow in those tours.
In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Ultra proves better when it comes to its paintings and telephoto performances. The pre -S25 is not a huge stretch on the edge, but its telephoto performance cannot be ignored because it is capable of capturing it due to the amount of expansion. This gives S25 Ultra an underlying benefit to capture subjects from distance.
I am not saying that the difference of $ 200 that separates the two is only appropriate by performing S25 Ultra’s telephoto, but it is just one of the many things that will forbid me to buy Ultra on the edge.
Depending on its performance, I would suspect that S25 Ultra will also have a benefit with video recording with its telephoto capabilities. All these reasons validate my feelings of S25 Ultra, overall are better phones.
