Apple Watch Ultra 2 is one of the best smartwatches for runners for a long time, but it still does not match the best gamin watches for sports features.
However, the gap between smart and sports watches decreases year -to -half, and a clear effort is to tap more into Apple Watch Audiences by Garmin Venu X1 Garmin.
It has a huge 2-inch AMOLED display and a thin design compared to any gamin I have tested. On the wrist, it looks like a smartwatch compared to a sports watch, even if it is packed in top sports tracking features of almost all gamin.
To directly compare Garmin Venu X1 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, I wore both for a 5-mill race in Essex rural areas in the UK, examining their design, accuracy and battery life.
I completed the race at 26:01, and both watches had a lot of space with their accuracy. However, there were definitely differences that I saw in their design and how they performed on the day of the race.
design
The thinness of the Garmin Venu X1 makes it feel very light and disinterested on the wrist, despite the fact that it has such a big screen.
It felt lighter than the Apple Watch Ultra 2 during the race, and how thin it is, despite this, thanks to the Venu X1 Titanium case back and sapphire screen, does not feel furious at all.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 is a very good looking watch. The way the case of titanium surrounds its screen, it can make it more durable than the Venu X1, but the gamin is lighter and feels better to run.
GPS accuracy
At the beginning of the race, I recalled the button on Apple Watch Ultra 2 to start recording, but by the time I was receiving it, only a few steps were taken, and both watches produced an accurate track on two-lap courses on the streets of rural areas.
I track my run in kilometers, and the five miles are 8.05 km, so both the watches were very close to the right distance-the Essex County had a 5-mile championship and therefore had a licensed, accurate-dumpling course.
One notable thing about GPS tracking on two watches is that Apple Watch Ultra 2 provides dual-band GPS tracking, a more accurate way that is not available on Venu X1, but Is Available on other gamin models.
In the trial so far, the tracking all-satellite-system on the Venu X1 has been very accurate. On this course, on the streets of rural areas with small tree cover, it was fine, but in city events where you are running around long buildings, dual-band tracking on apples will be beneficial.
Heart rate accuracy
To test the heart rate accuracy of two watches during the race, I also wore a gamin HRM 600 chest strap in my pocket.
In my experience, chest straps are a more firm accurate option for heart rate tracking than wrist sensors, so I could compare the reading to Venu X1 and Apple Watch Ultra 2, to see if they match.
For most parts, both watches performed greatly for heart rate accuracy, matching the chest lease beet-for-beat for almost the entire race.
At the beginning of the race, the Venu X1 took some time to reach the right heart rate, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 did not read any heart rate for the first minute or two, but once both locked my heart rate, they were accurate for the rest of the incident.
battery life
The battery life of Apple Watch Ultra 2 has been very consistent through the years of testing, during a few days of use with clock, even when I used to run a marathon with the clock.
Garmin watches usually come out of this comfort, but not that the Garmin Venu X1, which is always permanent with the screen with me only a day. Garmin says it should last for two days, but I am losing about 10% battery per hour during the run, including a 5-mile race, which is a 14-hour GPS battery faster than expected of life.
It is up to the lowest level with the brightness of the screen, (it is still more than sufficiently bright). Until you plan the Venu X1 screen on Ry-to-Vek, Apple Watch is the winner on Ultra 2 battery life.
Garmin launched an update for its Forer 570 and Forer 970 watches after launching to improve battery life, so it can also be with Venu X1, but right now, its big, bright screen is definitely making a huge impact on battery life.
Decision
If you are someone who prefers a square watch and prioritizes a bright performance on long battery life, these two clocks fit the bill, and they return the good looks with impressive sports tracking that is accurate and wide.
The flame of Garmin Venu X1 makes more comfortable on my thin wrist, and I prefer sports tracking and training analysis of germin for Apple, as it has more expansion and adaptation.
During this race, however, it performed better as a wash, which performed better with a very similar distance, pacing and heart rate data from both watches. You can definitely trust anyone on the day of the race.
