Although I love Apple’s equipment, I think the company’s apps have to hit or miss. When some big apps on my iPhone were not meeting my needs, I switched them to the Google Tool instead, and the results were fantastic.
Which apps did I change on my iPhone?
I replaced most of the major apple tools with equivalent Google Apps; The greatest one was to switch apple notes for a Google Keep. In addition, I changed the safari for Google Chrome; Safari needs to fix a lot of issues, so it was an easy option.
Other apps I replaced were:

Google Maps instead of Apple Maps
The only standout app that I did not have changed were the messages, because I rarely use it (and you really can’t change it with any other SMS/RCS app on the iPhone anyway). Most of the time, I convey a message to the people through WhatsApp, whether they have an iPhone. Changing my Apple apps with Google provides many benefits, which is why I do not regret switching.
A better in-app experience
The biggest advantage of switching on Google Apps so far was that I really had a much better time to use apps. For most parts, I prefer UX in devices such as Google functions compared to my Apple counterparts.
The biggest example of this is Apple Maps vs Google Maps. For me, using Google Maps is infinitely easy and more accurate in its instructions. I will be lost without Google Maps, so the app has become indispensable on my phone.
Gmail is another example. Despite significant reforms since 2022, I will still not use the Apple mail. One of the many reasons is that I experience more glitter with equipment, especially on my iPhone, compared to Gmail.
Although I think Apple is much better than creating a device than Google and those who run Ose, Apple still- in my opinion- legs in app design.
Easy use in all my equipment
While I am in a large-scale Apple ecosystem, Google Apps offers a better cross-device experience. For example, I sometimes work with a library computer when I do not want to take my laptop with me. These often run on Windows, making it impossible to reach many Apple tools (at least their suit versions) from the device.
With Google Apps, I can easily access most devices on all platforms. I just need to go to the web version and sign in with my Google account; This is the case for Gmail and Google photos. For others, such as Google Maps, I can also use these tools without signing.
While I can use Apple Maps without signature, web version is in beta at the time of writing. In addition, it is not at the level of sophistication similar to the Google map. If I ever chose to leave Apple Ecosystem, it is good to know that I will not have to restart my apps from scratch.
More features
Many apps of Apple do the basics well, but they often seem that they are working on progress. At one point, this is fine, as you have to build slowly over time. But many devices feel less complete than their Google counterparts. After changing its major iPhone apps with Google people, I saw it with full clarity.
Apple Mail is a good example. While it is technically a partition feature, it is not as good as Gmail. Apple Remrator is one and one: in Google works, I can mark important tasks StarredI do not have this option in the reminder.
I don’t think more features are automatically a benefit, as they can be gimmick sometimes. However, for many Google Apps I used by me, this is not the case – additional features are welcome.
Google Drive Integration
Google Drive is my favorite cloud tool; I like it very much that I have differently eaten for work and home and to keep everything better. I use software to store articles I write, photos I take, and various other documents that I imagine will be useful at some point.
All Google apps that I integrate well with Google Drive, meaning that I can easily access them whenever I need. I also find the organization and interface of Google Drive very cleaner than iCloud, and thanks to it, I feel less overwhelmed when using the app.
I saved on iCloud storage
When I mainly used the Apple Tool, I needed important iCloud storage and needed to upgrade – Apple photos were the biggest criminals. After switching to Google Apps, I was able to downgrade the lowest paid iCloud plan.
My content was available in Google Drive instead, which has high free storage allowance than iCloud. Because of this, it was easy to audit the icloud settings that were eating my storage and only pay for what I wanted.
Is there any app that I will not replace?
While I like Google Apps in most cases, I still think some of the Apple are better. For example, facetime is the best video calling app for me. I could not go on board with Google Meat, and it is difficult to convince others to use it because most of my friends and family use it for a large extent.
I will also not completely replace the message app. Google Chat does not serve the same objective, in my opinion. After trying the Google calendar, I still prefer the Apple calendar on my iPhone, even if both apps are great. I like Google Calendar on my computer more than my Apple equivalent, so it can also depend on the device.
