I still like my Google Pixel 9 Pro on expensive flagship – and it’s not even close

    Adam Breeden/ZDNET

Last year, I was loud that my time with Pixel phone was over as Google announced that it is planning to inject even more AI “goodness” in Android. I saw the ship as an opportunity to jump.

My goal was not to buy anything 3. Then, as fate would have, anything CEO Carl Pei announced that his company was All-in on AIAnd next nothing would take advantage of phone technology, in those ways no other equipment was near.

    Foil again.

Shortly after, I saw Pixel 9 Pro SeriesWhich Google has made it clear that this “flagship” is serious to return the monicor into a lineup. Instead of suspected design options for hardware (such as ugly camera hump, very-slicking glass, and strangely-rid edges), Google chose for a classier look.

    The company was successful.

I ordered my order, traded in my Pixel 8 Pro, and expanded $ 700 in credit. I sat back and waited. A few weeks later, my Pink Pixel 9 Pro came. As soon as I did it unboxed, my first idea was, “now it There is a flagship device. ,

The build is a quality staller, the look is beautiful, and the feel is very good – and before I switch the phone, it was all.

The first thing you will see with Pixel 9 is flat edges, which gives the phone a very polish look. Practically, those flat edges make the pixel 9 Pro easy to take fast.

This was one of my big complaints with Pixel 8 Pro. When the pixel 8 phone is on a flat surface, it can be difficult to lift with any confidence. Due to the clever surface, the phone is at risk of slipping from between my fingers. It is not that leaving a phone a few inches on the surface of a table will damage the device, but it is definitely disappointing.

that is not the point. Pixel 9 Pro is very easy to take.

Beyond the spirit of all this, the Pixel 9 look is just present. Yes, it is very like iPhone, but I don’t see it as a bad thing. There is a reason that Apple is glued to a uniform chassis design … because it works, and it shouts “I am a major tool!”

In addition, the camera hump is so good. On Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro, the camera hump made the phone cheaper. It looked almost “casual”. Now? The camera looks deliberately in the hump design, and it better the look and feel of the device compared to the previous recurrence.

Finally, the size of the Pixel 9 Pro is perfect. It is slightly smaller than Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 8 Pro, which means that one hand is easy to use.

Setting my pixel (from an old model)

Generally, when data from one pixel is transferred to another, you are motivated to connect the phone via USB-C cable and allow the data to move (a process that can take some time). With the pixel 9 lineup, all this is done through Bluetooth, and it is surprisingly sharp and easy. I would like to say that this is the simplest and fastest transfer from one pixel to another that I have experienced (and I have been doing this since the early Pixel days).

Of course, everything is not transferred. In the context of credentials, only my Gmail account was automatically added. I had to manually input another app login. This is to be expected, and I did not feel like logging in some apps and adding my non-gemail accounts.

I also bought a clear case from Google for magnetic goods, which was a smart step.

    My experience

Since Pixel 6 Pro, I have found Google’s top phone display outstanding. The Pixel 9 Pro leads it to a notch, and finally, Android can actually show animation on the equation with iOS. Everything butter is smooth, and the apps immediately launch. Scroll through the app drawer, and now you do not experience stutors and jump.

The performance of Pixel 9 Pro is no less than incredible. Generally, I turn off the surroundings performance facility as the display becomes slightly dark. On Pixel 9 Pro, I have not yet felt the need to close that feature. Certainly, the performance adjusts the smallest change in ambient light, but it never slows down to look.

If I manually adjust the brightness in all ways, it is Very Shiny. In fact, this is the first phone that I used where I thought was almost very bright performance on full brightness. Images have more depth and clarity when displayed on the Pixel 9 Pro.

Before the last night, I forgot to keep my phone on the charger overnight. When I woke up the next morning and saw it at my desk, the remaining battery percentage was 76%. Instead of putting it on your cradle, so that it could charge it, I decided to use it and decided to set my normal time (about 6 o’clock – I prefer to disconnect completely at the end of the day) to the pixel stand.

Also: is going off-grind? Leave your flagship at home and take $ 300 Android instead. here’s why

By the end of the day, the phone was at 50%. Di, I am not on my phone throughout the day, but still, it is impressive. It is not any type of battery benchmark that I can go honestly, but knowing that the phone can go without the night’s charge and the battery barely moves one inch downward, it is a very good sign that this phone will be more than distance.

    Lower line (for now)

It’s early with my relationship Pixel 9 ProBut I am ready to declare that Google has finally created a pixel phone worthy of flagship title. I can’t wait to see how Android 15 will run on this child because it runs like a shampoo on my Pixel 7 Pro.
