I cannot say that 2025 has been a particularly extraordinary year for laptops, at least yet.
It is not to say that new development has not taken place. After all, the first RTX 50-series notebooks are now available, giving a decent (if infallible) performance for the previous generations. Intel Lunar Lake laptops are also a good number of windows laptop comparable battery life for the best MacBook.
I test and review the laptop for a living, and all three stand on top of the rest. Below, I will expand what I like about each of these laptops and hope it can help you if you are in the market for a new notebook, whether it is for work or fun.
MacBook Air 15-inch M4
The MacBook Air 15-inch M4 is currently the main laptop used in the office, so it immediately makes it in this list. But why is there something that is either small or probably more powerful instead of this specific laptop? This MacBook has everything that I need to work as efficiently as possible.
I have a 15 -inch MacBook Air M4 attached to an external monitor, which later serving as my primary monitor. The MacBook Air M4 serves as my secondary performance, which I use especially to see and react to slack messages. Its large screen ensures that I do not have to squint when reading the message from my colleagues.
Thanks to the M4 chip inside, the Air M4 can easily handle my everyday task, which often contains 20 to 30 open tabs and sometimes youtube videos (or two). And when I need to go to a meeting room, this laptop is lighter enough to move around the office easily. The big screen also means that when I want to work with a single screen, I do not have to make a big compromise.
When it comes to everyday work in the office, the 15 -inch MacBook Air M4 meets all my needs. Also, it looks good just sitting on my desk!
Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro
While they do not pay that much attention, I am a fan of Samsung’s laptop due to their common light design and OLED panel options. The last test I conducted was the Samsung Galaxy Book 5 Pro, and it is everything that I like about the company’s laptop line.
I like this notebook, the main reason for this is its grand 16-inch (2880 x 1800) OLED. This screen makes everything pops, so movies and shows look great. It also becomes very bright for both SDR and HDR content, which means that you will not miss a single detail in the video or on websites.
Being relatively large, the light and thin design of this laptop makes it a great travel companion. I also like generous port selection, something that you do not always find on this thin machines. Inside, it packs a lunar lake chip that gives it a lot of power for everyday work and about 12 and a half battery life battery life, which is better than average for Windows laptops.
Even if the Lunar Lake is not efficient as Snapdragon X Elite is not efficient, Intel’s CPU usually plays well with app and a wide range of programs compared to Qualcomm Chips.
Alienware Area -51 Gaming Laptop
I initially reservation about RTX 50-series gaming laptops as I felt that the previous-jewelery 40-series machines were still very good for gaming. While this is still true, the tests such as HP Omen Max 16 and Alienware 16 Area -51 Gaming Laptops have made me the RTX 50 -series believer. This is especially true with incredible laptops of alienware.
Alienware 16 Area -51 has style and substance. Its liquid Chaiti Finnish laptop gives a deep rainbow sheen that shifts colors when you see it under different lighting. Combine with RGB light that mimics the movements of Arora Borelis, and you have a machine that feels that it was created by aliens! Although this alienware laptop is large and heavy, there is no denying that it is a beautiful piece of kit.
Then there is incredible gaming performance. I got doom: Enable the dark era to walk on 120 FPS with DLSS 4 and 240 FPS with DLSS 4. The latter FPS effectively matches the refresh rate of the display. This laptop can also run cyberpank 2077 on 70 FPS with cyberpank 2077 on 70 FPS and 240 FPS with frame-generating technology.
