HP resumed its laptop lineup last year, the name of its high -performing business equipment to Elitebook X series. The first laptop I have tested from this series is 14-inch HP Elitebook X G1AAn impressive enterprise likes a lot with laptops, but some ideas that make it unique.
It is a commercial laptop aimed at the purpose of professionals, and its purpose is to combine a thinkpad connectivity, smooth form factor of MacBook and minimum, if the signature, if non-delegation, design.

The laptop has some configurations, the highest premium with AMD Rvenie AI9 processor-one of the most state-of-the-art chips on the market-and an OLED display, but the test I conducted had AMD Rvenie AI7 Pro 360 Processor, 32GB Ram, and a 14-Inch Voust Mate Dysplay.
On the surface, it is minimal and rather corporate-dinner, with a matte waxga display and an abundant selection of ports. It passes an un-fledged test and opens up to a standard performance with a shine, 60Hz refresh rate and a compact and skilled keyboard.
One of its best characteristics is the keyboard. It is perfectly silent, with a pungent touch and a major travel distance (almost) seems mechanical. The keys are huge and smooth, and the backlighting is effective and well designed. Similarly, the trackpad is responsible and premium, even if the click feels a little on the “heavy” side.
I want this to be a haptic trackpad, however, it would set a long way towards making it more premium, especially as a sophisticated demographic tool: business leaders and technical experts. When you consider the price of this laptop, it looks like a missing opportunity.
During my test, I found that this laptop is really pleasant to use at work for a long time, and a large part of it was due to its well -designed ergonomics. Unlike other machines, which require the user to adjust to bold or unconventional design options, the Elitebook X G1A fits like a familiar glove with the bats, making it a solid long -working laptop.

If the keyboard and trackpads contribute to a pleasant physical form, the abundant I/O selection strengthens its practicality. You have found one HDMI, three USB-C (one Thunderbolt 4-Thanksgirl), a USB-A port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a Kensington lock slot. This, in my opinion, in 2025 you are one of the best combinations of the ports; The only thing that will improve it will be the SD card reader.
This can certainly axle for creative tasks, as well as, in industry-standard programs such as video editing such as da vinci resolution was an air. By the same token, gaming is possible on this laptop, but I will not recommend it as a dedicated gaming machine with 60Hz displays and its heat wastage (more on it).
When testing, I faced a hiccup when connected to an external monitor with Thunderbolt 4 port. Both the display driver and Windows will start again after the update.
Such issues can result in any number of things, including problems with operating systems, hardware, or even USB-C cords, so I am not necessarily a mistake of the elitebook. However, this was the first time I was with me after using dozens of laptops with that connection and monitor.

A busy working day prevented me from troubleshooting for an extended period of time, but this is where the generous port selection came to the clutch, allowing me to swap only for an HDMI connection. This is an ideal example where the use of fruitless I/O can solve technical problems, especially in working settings.
In terms of performance, Elitebook X G1A is sharp and responsible, with a benchmarking number that returns its claim of being a powerful enterprise machine.
One thing I saw during the test of Elitebook X G1A, however, it was slightly warm compared to other laptops in its orbit, kicking fans during the continuous charge in high performance mode. When it is not being pushed, however, it is silent and calm, I believe that there is just a limit here with hardware. At any point I did not see any evidence of throtting, though.
Continuing its expertise in the professional field, Elitebook X G1A has a 74.5Whr battery, which is on a large size for laptops of this size, which earns more than 11 hours during our standard battery test. It’s good, certain, but it did not translate enough for the magnificent period I was expecting. Especially when you compare it to contestants.

When testing the MacBook Pro M4, we get to know about the same time, although this laptop is cheaper and, not mentioning a MacBook. In contrast, HP with Snapdragon X Elite had its own Omnibuk X14 a full marathon machine, which earned more than 20 hours.
Of course, the hardware on the Omnibuk is slightly more modest, but its 65Wh battery overforms in a way that cannot be ignored. As I have spent more time with this laptop, however, I understood the case of its intended use as a tool, which trades in ultrathin and light form factor for raw power, making it a durable, reliable workahors.
ZDNET purchase advice
There is no shortage of thin and light laptops with marathon batteries. HP Elitebook X G1A Comparatively, more focus is focused on providing reliable muscle during work hours. Beefware takes full advantage of the big battery, abundant ports keep your options open, and a comfortable keyboard acts as an ergonomic command center so that you can do and work.
However, all this hardware can be warm when it is pushed, and it is not a cheap laptop. If you are looking for a 14-inch device that is fully committed to enterprise use case, it is a solid option, but keep in mind that it is quite specific for that role.
If you are looking for a similar laptop for a little less, I advise Lenovo Thinkpad T14S General 6 – The same processor with a lot of connectivity and the same processor around the mark of $ 1,500 with a lot of connectivity.
