This is unusual, but for this review, I tested 50 inch Version of Panasonic’s 2025 W70B Fire TV(Usually, I test the 65-inch model.) At $ 349 for this screen size, I spent some time to test the W70B, and here I can tell you about it.

With any TV, I am grateful for an easy setup – W70B took less than 15 minutes to unbox. I was amazed at the super lightweight feel of this TV. I will never advise to do this, but I can really understand this 50 -inch TV at the center of the frame and lift it with one hand. If portability is an essential factor in your decision to buy TV, then it is a solid option.
I have tested countless TVs in ZDNET. To remain the objective, I need to meet my expectations after reviewing the high end model. I admit that W70B is considered a budget TV, but unfortunately, I found that W70B’s Vafilaz weight and density lack of density depicted some of its shortcomings.
With its wings alone, the TV looks like a toy, or a functional proph on a film set. It sounds a kind of cruel, but I am just honest, here.
Every time I operated on W70B, it took several seconds to introduce a practical screen. Unfortunately, there are many seconds in the world we live today. With a strong Wi-Fi connection, there is a slight excuse for slow load and bootup, and seems to have a never-ending “loading” circle.

I just want to turn on my TV and watch the goods. In addition, the TV was required to download the update, which I was informed “can take 1-2 minutes.” After no five -minute response, it was clear that the W70B had frozen. There was no difference in any way of pushing the remote button, so I had to unplug the unit to revive it into consciousness.
Despite not starting on the best legs, I wanted to give W70B a proper shake. So I did, started with the first impression and ended with the color meter test data. A quick sniff test for any TV optics involves closely watching the initial credit for a contemporary film as they are made of motion graphics.
I opened the free Tubi app and turned on “Jurassic World” for immediate evaluation. The intro graphics looked fine, but you can easily spot the low (60Hz) fresh rate of the TV because modest juder is followed with moving images. In addition, these mobile logo are often presented in front of a black background or starlight vacuum of space. Immediately, it was clear that deep blacks on W70B are not getting intoxicated.

As a reminder, it is not the top level model of panasonic. It lacks HCX Pro AI processor MK II which is found in their major OLED products. While “Jurassic World” was mastered in 2K, I was hoping that the W70B would take the film to 4K. I can’t say this.
Seeing the film, the dark, the distant mountains were suffering from what I say smearWhen you can scatter large groups of pixels and transfer camera as pan. Most people are not worried about what is happening in the background of a film, but if we are investigating the performance, I need to pointed it.

Switching on ABC News, the graphics were clear and bright because you would expect a news broadcast. Unfortunately, footage of Talking Heads and “Live Action” shots remained granular. Honestly, I felt that I have been watching TV since 10 years ago.
Without using sensitive laboratory devices, it is clear that the W70B is dark around the edges, and the angles of seeing are not good. You need to be very high in front of the tube for optimal brightness because the glitter is another area where the W70B struggles. Panasonic HDR claims the peak shine of 333 NITs when displaying the signal. In our tests, the peak of about 274 knots appeared for SDR content in movie mode.
Again, it is a budget TV with a full-pane LED backlight and no local dimming, so its brightness and contrast are not as much as a more premium model with techniques such as mini-LED or OLED. I understood.

In addition, the results of our standard mode test indicate that the display has difficulty reproducing the colors accurately, especially within the BT.2020 and UHDA-P3 colors. In short, you get what you pay for.
The good news is that the W70B comes with a remote battery. It is not a backlit, which is another sign of its low-end quality. Now, despite the time of slow load, it is easy to navigate the UX and as it should be, it is easy to behave. For example, jump from one app to another and resume your show quickly when you bounce back.
ZDNET purchase advice
If you have read it so far, you have definitely gathered from my comments that I was not affected by it. W70BPanasonic creates some great high end TVs, but like TCL QM6K there are other options in the same price range, which is cheaper but a better TV. Or even Visio Quantum 4K CouledWhere you can avail QLED technology for the same price.
It says that say this, if you are looking for a budget 4K LED TV, there are better options on the market, many of which we have gone by hand personally.
How do we test TV
While testing and researching the TV shown in this list, I and other ZDNET experts kept these criteria in mind:
- price: Not all budgets are made equal. And if you are working with a limited budget, it should not mean that you will have to compromise for sub-par TV. In this list, each TV model has been chosen at a variety of price points to help adjust different requirements.
- screen size: After the price, when shopping for a new TV, the most important factor to consider is whether it will fit in your location. Each best TV was chosen in this list as they are available in a variety of sizes to suit different rooms.
- Pictures and audio quality: A new TV does not mean too much, even if it is the cost of one hand and one leg, if it does not provide a magnificent picture and clear audio. In this list, each TV is ensured to support various HDR codecs, including HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision, as well as increased audio software such as Dolby Atomos, Dolby Digital Plus and Object-tracking sound.
