    Since the release of Kia EV6 in 2021-the first mass-market of the company has been an example of succeeding in the electric automotive space with a wide and accessible range of all-electric car-korian automekar vehicles. Four years later, the EV5’s comprehensive customer targets the base of the company as a competitive price as a SUV-and it is already a well-sold car in both South Korea and Australia.

    In my opinion, Kia ranks second only after Tesla in 2025 being the strongest range of EVS. Under the leadership of the old hatchback/wagon/SUV crossover EV6, Kia’s line-up has something for almost all tastes, from the top accessible and compact EV3 at the top of the EV3 SUV.

    Given that the EV5 focuses on a comprehensive appeal with its size and performance, this mid -sized SUV seems to be built aimed at taking the car manufacturer as its new hero vehicle (although the glimpse of us, the upcoming Kia EV4 sedan and hatch can give EV5 a run for their money).

    I am not so insufficient that I will write Kia EV5 for my ineffective OS, but I am confident that an Android automotive -word system will contribute to a very spontaneous daily drive. For the real ‘car’ bit, though – here I thought about Kia EV5.

    There is a lot for Kia EV5 that makes it an attractive option. A generously spacious interior corresponds to an exterior that may not be seen in photos, and it is easy to maneuver through tight carparks. EV5 ended with people’s car loads (including three adults and two children who utilize children) on a journey out of the city, EV5 ended with being comfortable for an entire family.

    With the language of its now-integrated style, one of the conflicts has gone into Kia that EV3, EV5 and EV9 look practically similar in photos. The car is difficult to drive on tight roads and is attractively priced at competition with companies such as Tesla and emerging Chinese rivalry, while also competitive against luxurious European options.

    The maximum DC charging capacity of 140kw (or standard model air in 102kw) is slightly lower, especially given how quickly how quickly the next-model-up EV6 can charge (233kw)-but you will comfortably receive a public charger without using public charger for more than 10-20 minutes at a time if you are going on a four-hour journey of the city.

    The reason for this very low charging speed is the same as EV5 has facilitated a FWD drive on the base model instead of RWD, as found in EV6 and EV9-Kia has chosen to use a cheap-made platform, a fundamental architecture of a car that is shared in many models, which is for EV5. This cheap platform also provides strength to EV3, but not the upcoming EV4, which will use the low-voltage version of the EV6 system.

    As models grow in the price, they naturally get more features. EV5’s long distance and earth variants add a large battery, with the Earth also incorporates a double-motor AWD drivetrain. The Earth comes with synthetic-leather seat upholstery, a power-lift tailgate and a V2 L charging port (allows it to give strength to external devices with adapters).

    High-end GT-line that I tested, including the above features, 20-inch alloy wheels, 360-degree camera, a roof-spanning sunroof, head-up display, blind spot camera, a warm and cold storage bin in the back, hot rear seats, ventilated friends, hormies, harmon and hormon Connects Kawind.

    The 360-Digry camera is getting available only in the top-end variants, given that this feature is available on very cheap EVs like Byd Atto 3. It would be great to see at least available with the Earth trim.

    Even more severe, the continuous use of Kia’s Kia Connect, an OS that it shares with another Korean vehicle manufacturer origin and Hyundai (although under different names) is a bit of a latedown.

    It is not that Kia Connect is poorly created – it is not just as good as the contemporary EV manufacturers are offering at this price. In-Balt Navigation App is a very large annoyance, as you will dive more through the menu, just required to plot a route. While Kia’s app depends on the least Google Maps data, I quickly left when used and switched to Android auto for its more convenient layout. The design of the OS is also very counter, in which the app is focused on the app-based options (most of which you can never open) and the Settings menu.

    At least Kia has given the least time how much time you usually needs spend In those menu. The center is a dedicated panel between the screen and the instrument cluster, which is dedicated to climate control, is physically different from the rest of the infotainment system (a very welcome screen is given that some cars bury it in the infotainment system). The car also has a wireless Android auto and Apple CarPlay, so pairing your phone can also help how many times you will need to interact with Kia’s OS.

    I hope that the embrace of Android Automotive Kia will be applied quickly to its new electric model in 2026, but as writing, no announcement has been made to include in next year’s limit.

    The KIA EV5 is much more competitive than its rivals, especially coming from well -established brands such as BMW and Volkswagen, but I am hesitant to recommend it for everyone. EV5 is an ideal mix of features to make it ideal for a driver that is not the most futuristic experience (something that tesla, polestar and byd improve), but instead want more traditional layouts in the driver’s seat. At the top of it, it is largely competitive, dwarfing many of its rivals easily.

    I recommend a longer border of air for most people above other models in KIA EV5 line-up as it provides the most competitive mixture of range and value. With its large size, it is particularly attractive to families. However, if you want a spontaneous software experience, I would recommend to wait or wait around or wait around the upcoming range of cars with Android Automotive OS.

    If you are shopping for rivals that provide equal pricing, limit and features, consider the new fresh Tesla models Y, XPENG G6 and byd Sealion 7. Looking at the high end, I will put forward the Volkswagen ID.4, Mini Countryman EV or even BMW IX1.
