Apple Music has many new features in iOS 26, but the automix is probably what you notice immediately. This app originally transitions the app using tricks from one song that can appoint a DJ. You are going to note that the track switching of Apple Music is something different because the automics is capable by default. I used it every day for three weeks, and I have mixed feelings about it.
What exactly is Apple Music’s automics?
Apple says that the Automics uses AI to analyze audio features and “unique transition between songs with time stretching and unique transition with matching with continuous playback and another spontaneous hearing experience.” It is basically a DJ when they are performed live. This can be made in your own personal DJ in your streaming service, but the results in Apple music vary well in completely off-painting.
Why Automics is a mixed bag

Whether you go to a club or live concert, most good DJ track orders, The Vibe of the Room, will focus on details, what kind of mood they are going to, and more. This means that your friendly neighborhood DJ is thinking a lot about the kind of experience you want and it is a delicate balance between increasing the energy of the room that is enough to dance everyone, but not so much that everyone is tired within 15 minutes. They will also consider giving people a small breath with sweet songs so that people can take a breath and get refreshments. The best DJ will read the room and ensure that you have a good time.
Automics sometimes seems that it is actually a good DJ that has made the right set list for you. When it works well, the track mixes in each other and you never feel out of place. I am a fan of continuous playback, and when it works, the automics saves in a luxurious way. However, unlike a good DJ, the automix does not care much for track orders and tries to mix songs, no matter what. If you have a high-energy song, after which, at a slow speed, the automics will slow down the end of the sharp song, so that it matches the beat of one slowly. It also speeds up songs when the next track is a sharp, which sounds humor sometimes.
Personally, I do not want to listen to music at 0.75x or 1.5x speed, until I am specially looking for a workout mixture. Automics aggressively applies its beet-muchting algorithm to every infection and actually attracts attention to itself. In its current position, the automics is a bit very aggressive on some infections, and I hope that Apple tone it down during the steady release of iOS 26.
What do you think so far?
This is a useful feature for some type of playlist where the track has a similar “vibe”, but it struggles when your playlist has different types of songs wildly. I have a habit of cautiously curing the playlist, so that the voice at the end of a song corresponds to those at the beginning of the next one, and the Automics did not work well with any of those playlists. By combining the end of a track with the beginning of the next, Automics greatly reduced my hard work. I honestly would not object to using it with the playlist that I automatically play on the shuffle mode, but not with the curate playlist individually. The good thing is that Apple has disabled automics for albums and “some styles”, so you don’t have to worry about ruining your favorite creations.

Fortunately, it is quite easy to enable or disable automics in iOS 26. For the beginning, you can turn on or off the automics by opening the music app and tapping the mini player that displays the current playing song. Once the player expands, tap on the three lines button in the lower-right corner of the screen. This shows Continue playing The screen that shows the queue of songs. Above the track list, you will see four buttons: Mixture, Repeat, auto play (Infinite symbol), and Automics (Two circle buttons). You can tap Automics Button to tograph it.
If you are permanently done in iOS 26 with the Automics feature of Apple Music, it is mentioned here how to get rid of it. Go Settings> App> Music> Song transitionAnd disable Song transitionThis will allow the songs play normally. If you keep gapless playback without AI DJ, you can enable the song infection, and select Crossfed on the same page. Apple lets you choose the duration of crossfed, which you can like on automics.
