Where you live, it seems disappointing to lock out of streaming material. Thankfully, I discovered a simple DNS trick that unlocks more shows and movies on my smart TV without slowing down my internet connection.

How Smart DNS proxy unlocks more ingredients

It is wild how many streaming materials are closed due to where you live. This is why I was pushed to search for a work -raound, and when I came to know that Smart DNS ProxyThis particular DNS service opens new content on my smart TV without slowing down my connection or streaming a problem.

Smart DNS Proxy works by handling the part of your internet traffic that uses streaming services to check your location. When you open Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime or any other platform, your device first asks a DNS server to the address of the site. With smart DNS proxy, those requests go to a particular server that replies in such a way that streaming service feels that you are in the country where the material is available. Your real IP address has not been changed, and your internet traffic for the actual video stream still goes to streaming service, so you get the same speed you are using – no buffering or leg as you can meet with VPN.

This is one of the reasons that I like to use DNS proxy on VPN for streaming geo-captivated content. Since it does not encryp your traffic or resumes everything through any other country, I get to keep my fast connection by unlocking shows and films from other areas. I have also found it easy to jump between different material libraries without switching servers or Fidel with additional apps.

However, note that smart DNS proxy focuses on convenience and access rather than privacy. Unlike a VPN, it does not hide your browsing or does not encryp your data, so if privacy is your top concern, a VPN is a better option to streaming the content-block material in any country while keeping your connection safe. But if your goal is just to see more ingredients with zero troubles on your smart TV, then the smart DNS proxy is the tool that works.

How do I set smart DNS proxy on my smart tv

Setting Smart DNS proxy on your smart TV requires manually replace your device’s DNS settings. This process varies a bit between TV brands, but the main steps remain the same in Samsung, LG, Sony and other major manufacturers. Here’s how I set Smart DNS Proxy on my Google TV:

Step 1: Get Smart DNS address

On my PC, I start by signing up for one Smart DNS ProxyAfter registering, I went to them List of proxy serverThis list includes all the proxy servers that they are host.

When setting DNS, you will need to provide two DNS addresses to act as your primary and secondary DNS. Therefore, in this example, I choose Japan (54.64.107.105) and New Zealand (223.366.64.97).

Keep this tab open as a reference for the latter.

Step 2: Change DNS settings on smart TV

    Set Smartdns Proxy DNS

Now I go to my smart TV remote and press the home button to navigate in the Settings menu. From there, I choose network and InternetChoose my Wi-Fi network, and scroll down IP settingsI then changed the settings from DHCP to static. This allows me to set up a specific IP address and DNS without my router which automatically replaces them from time to time.

After choosing a static, my TV inspired me to specify my IP address, gateway and DNS. The only thing I changed was DNS fields, where I entered 54.64.107.105 (Japan) as DNS fields, where I dNS 1 and 223.366.64.97 (New Zealand) (New Zealand).

    Step 3: Save and restart

After entering the DNS address, I saved Settings and resumed my smart TV. This step is important because changes are effective only after a reboot.

Step 4: Activate Smart DNS Proxy

    SmartdNS connection is working

Once my TV came back online, I opened a browser on my PC and logged in my smart DNS proxy account. The situation on the DNS setup now now shows a check mark that shows that the setup was activated on the smart DNS proxy network and is now working.

If the setup does not work, double-check for potential DNS types. It is also an opportunity that the DNS server you choose is currently offline. In that case, use other servers provided in the list of smart DNS proxy.

    Step 5: Test Streaming Access

    • Amazon Prime Service Restricted

    • Amazon Prime is no longer inspired

Once everything is set, I opened the Amazon Prime to see if I can finally browse it. Immediately, I noticed that the material was now available. In addition, the quality of streaming was smoothly like the other streaming services I saw.

Unlocking more content on my smart TV was as simple as changing some settings. The few minutes I spent on the setup were definitely worth it. If you are tired of running into streaming restrictions, try the smart DNS proxy. You may be surprised how much material you are missing.
