I was wrong about this $ 15 cordless screwdriver – here is how it happened in my workshop

    XLX 4.2V Cordless Schctivate

    Key takeaways of zdnet

    • The XLX 4.2V screwdriver is available on Amazon for $ 15.
    • It has a classic design that is surprisingly ergonomic, and more than enough powerful for regular DIY functions.
    • The LED light comes only when the screwdriver is on.

Sometimes I am wrong. This does not happen often, but when it happens, I try to learn from it. For example, take the second day. I found a new screwdriver for testing, and I was initially rejecting it very much about it. Eventually, the price was less than $ 20, it was from a brand that did not ring any bell, and it seemed so much as my grandfather used back in the 1980s.

But I was wrong. It was not only powerful, but surprisingly ergonomic.

The product is in question XLX 4.2V Cordless SchctivateIt was packed in a generic plastic box with some screwdriver bits and a charge cable, and did not hold my eye at first.

The screwdriver actually looks like an old -time gadget, or perhaps a microphone. I am urged to break it into the song holding it. Regardless, the size is a departure we use these days. Most cordless screwdrivers look like cylinders of various thickness depending on the capacity of the battery and power generation.

The unit is made up of a difficult polymer that opposes scuffs and effects, but there is no soft overmolding. There is also a wire loop built at the end of the screwdriver that I initially thought it would be uncomfortable, but I was wrong.

In fact, the size makes the entire entity plotable, but since there is no switch to lock it in a closed position, I don’t know if I want to keep it in my pocket for a long time.

Inside the tool is a 900 mAh battery that is recommendable using USB-C, and the motor is capable of an impressive 3.0 nm electric torque (which is slightly higher than that is considered tight by hand), and unit can withstand 10 nm manual force, which you can get with a screwdriver.

Apart from this: My favorite wireless screwdriver of all time can handle any task for me (and it is on sale)

Interface is simplicity. There is a button to screw, and one to undo. There is a light that either comes on pressing the button, and the unit is magnetized for convenience.

It is all kept well and is very ergonomic.

I have used it to in and out a few hundred screws in the last few weeks, both in real -world use and endurance tests, and I am very happy to recommend it. The size, despite being a fairly chronic style, has been tested and surprisingly ergonomic. It fits well into the palm of the hand, and it is easy to reach the button.

Light on the front side is also highly functional, illuminating the work area well, the only defect of light is that it is only when the button is pressed, so if you are working in the dark, you will need another light.

    ZDNET purchase advice

All hold on one side, XLX 4.2V Cordless Schctivate $ 15 is a great tool. The handle may benefit from some soft overmolding, and the LED light comes only when the device is running, but I cannot complain for the price.

If it was my primary device, I would change the screwdriver bits with better people, but they move. To start someone, to put together with a little flat packed furniture, or in search of a cheap tool for misuse, to use an experienced diyer and misuse, this is an ideal choice.

I will put my in a small toolkit that I keep in the car.
