It seems to try to keep pace with everything in technology
And this week has been particularly busy: Samsung launched new foldables and smartwatches, Amazon exempted a huge body of products for Prime Day, and Google carried forward even more AI updates for us.
All this happened in more seven days of space, and you can read through the highlights below. The Techradar team will return in another seven days with another ICYMI – to digest more technical news for you.
8. Prime Day deals landed – and they are still going
Techradar Staff is writing a large pile of Prime Day deals, which directs you for the best discounts on products that you should actually think about buying – you should save money on everything from phone and laptop to air fryer and streaming services.
We are now in the later stages of the Prime Day event, but still there are some attractive deals, as Amazon cleanss its stock more: one click and a browse and see if there is something that catches your eye before running special offers.
7. Google Gemini landed on smartwatch
Google is busy with its Gemini apps and services, and AI is now ready to convert Google Assistant to Smartwatch, starting with the new Galaxy Watch 8. In the coming months from there, other wearing OS 6 watches will expand.
We have been promised better notifications, real -time voice support and reactions to understand references. Meanwhile, other Gemini upgrades who are also rolling out include an advanced experience on the foldable device, and circles to search for mobile games.
6. Apple retreated on liquid glass for iOS 26
Apple is presenting a major redesign called liquid glass on all its software platforms this year, with the menu and buttons more round, transported and wide. However, there are some concerns from users around ease.
With the latest iOS 26 Development Beta, Apple has addressed these concerns by dialing the impact of glass back. Not everyone is modified, but in our opinion it makes sense before the full public release in September.
5. Ikea revealed two cheap Bluetooth speakers
IKEA’s home furnishing experts have launched two new Bluetooth speakers that will not cause great harm to your bank balance, but will add a touch of style and sonic entertainment in any room: Nutbad and blue (which is also a lamp).
Behind your retro, old-school radio styling, Nutbad also provides spotify tap, so you can stop listening with just a tap on the unit and start again. We have a smart home standard description of pricing, color option and comprehensive commitment for IKEA case.
4. Gopro teased his long -awaited Max 2 action cam
We have been waiting for a long time for the successor of Gopro Max (which were all launched in 2019), and now there are some official news: Gopro himself posted a teaser for Gopro Max 2, suggesting that the device will launch in a very near future.
Gopro Max 2 will have a 360-degree action camera like its predecessor, and will carry the increasing number of competitors in space including DJI and Insta360. We still do not have an official launch date for you, but it should not be too long before the news is.
3. Samsung refreshes its Galaxy Watch lineup
Techradar was in appearance in Big Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event this week, and at the same time foldable phones (which more in a moment), we saw the launch of two newly worn OS Smartwatch for 2025: Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
The classic is of course more interesting of the pair, given that Samsung left the model last year, and it brings back the physical rotation bezel that makes a difference when you are trying to work through various tasks and features on the watch.
2. Google’s VO3 finds an impressive new AI video trick
Google’s Ve 3 AI video generator continues to wow us, and its abilities have been extended to those on Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra Plan. Now it is capable of taking a stable image and transforming it into a small video clip, with the details and directions you provided.
Based on examples, we have already seen the feature in action, it is possible to get some great results with this new AI tool – a mini stadium concert in a cardboard box, and so on – and we have got instructions how you can try it for yourself.
1. Samsung treated us for new flagship foldables
After months of leaks and rumors, Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Flip 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7FE-and we are already able to spend time on some hands with new foldables at the Galaxy Unpacked Launch event.
We can only share our early impressions so far, but Samsung really seems to have picked up the bar for foldable phones, which is successful in achieving here: the new devices are thin, more stylish and more powerful than the models they are replaced.
