I’d give up Apple’s most expensive smartwatch and buy this instead

One of Apple’s best smartwatches is also one of its most expensive. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 launches this year with longer battery life, emergency SOS via satellite communications, and a larger display. It costs $800, and sales of the smartwatch are sporadic. We may find some deals on the Apple Watch Ultra 3 this week, but they are more likely to be smaller and less significant in nature.

This is common, as smartwatches have been launched only a few months ago and are an expensive item. Apple won’t discount it too much so soon. But do you know which smartwatch the tech giant will have? Apple Watch Ultra 2. Despite being a year older, the smartwatch has similar functionalities to the Ultra 3, and it’s heavily discounted at the moment. You can get it right now on Amazon for $200 off.

Also: The best Black Friday deals are live now

The Apple Watch Ultra 2 gets many of the latest features from the Ultra 3 via the watchOS 26 software update that brings sleep scores, hypertension detection, and more upgrades to the older model. The Ultra 2 gets a sleep score to evaluate how well you sleep based on the duration, interruptions, and consistency of your bedtime. It also has a hypertension detection feature, which will tell users after 30 days of wearing if they are above or below the high blood pressure limit.

Read review: The Apple Watch Ultra 2 is my premium smartwatch of choice

The Ultra 2 and Ultra 3 have the same brightness (3,000 nits), similar fall and crash detection, a siren, and an action button to access your favorite features with one touch. The Ultra 2 lacks a longer battery (but still works after 36 hours of normal use), the S10 chipset, LTPO3, and satellite connectivity.

Unless you’re finding yourself lost on an off-grid trip up a mountain, you probably won’t need satellite connectivity anyway. You’ll probably miss the Ultra 3’s 42-hour battery life at most, but if it’s any consolation, both watches last up to 72 hours in low power mode.

Too: Thousands of readers bought this smartwatch this year

The Ultra 2 is a great smartwatch for some people. First of all, it is great for outdoor enthusiasts and regular exercisers. This watch is surprisingly durable and sturdy and can handle every situation, with water resistance up to 100 meters, EN13319 certification, and an IP6X dust resistance rating to boot. It’s great for those looking for a wide display that’s responsive and easy to type on, as well as a long battery life that lasts for days. Ultimately, this is great for those looking for one of Apple’s most capable smartwatches to handle notifications while at work, on the go, or out and about in the unknown.

    How I evaluated this deal

At a discount of $200, apple watch ultra 2 deal A 5/5 deal in my book. That’s 25% off, which is way more than our 20% limit. This is also a rare deal that we get on a highly rated device from a reputed brand.

We don’t know exactly when this deal will end, but seeing as it went live around the Black Friday deal event, we expect it to be available by Cyber Monday (if it doesn’t sell out before then).
