For its existence of more than 140 years, IEEE has been leading in preserving far -reaching implications of history behind electrical, electronic and computing fields and related areas of science and technology that underlines modern society. This history shows a continuous and dynamic cycle in which scientific understanding fuel innovation, and technological progress are capable of new path for scientific exploration. This attractive journey continues huge implications for our future. Organizations like IEEE have created an environment for progress and development by advocating a sound public policy to share knowledge, developing standards, developing standards and finally to carry forward technology.
Search for contribution of major data, such as Michael Faraday And their discovery in electromagnetism, and Grace hopperThe queen of software, as well as the challenges they had, provide valuable references for current and future innovators.
More understanding and appreciation of the historical contribution of the areas of IEEE and engaging in open dialogue with the public can help create more durable, efficient and technically advanced future. Public trust and engagement is necessary for the continuous progress and acceptance of technological progress. By re -looking at previous successes and failures, policy makers can better guess the results of new electrical engineering progress and can develop policies that promote innovation, ensuring public safety and environmental stability. Ethical ideas have always been vested for the development of technology, and checking historical challenges can provide valuable insight to navigate similar dilemmas in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing.
History serves as a will for human simplicity and power of cooperation. By studying the development of electrical engineering, we can identify the pattern, reflect on what has been well done and why, analyze what went wrong, and create existing knowledge to create new techniques.
Supporting the reason
Since its establishment, IEEE was standing History committeeThe organization and its members and their respective businesses and technologies are related to maintaining the legacy and heritage. IEEE History Center Protects, research and promotes the legacy of electrical engineering and computing through many of its programs.
Participate in IEEE milestone The dedication ceremony, which recognizes excellent technological development around the world, has always been happy to me. Touring these historically important places, where local volunteers have worked with technical experts, historians and public, who have really inspiring and a will to convince leading achievements and people behind them, how technological innovation benefits humanity. They are a great way to experience the history of technology with the global IEEE community.
This year I got an opportunity to participate in reopening IEEE Global MuseumWhich brings the journey, which performs focusing on the history of electotechnology for IEEE members and public. The museum promotes awareness of how technological progress comes out on generations and engineers and researchers can create previous achievements to improve people’s lives.
IEEE Oral History Program The recorded interviews collect the memories and individual comments spoken of historical importance. There are about 900 interviews available ethw.orgAs the President of IEEE, I look forward to my participation in it.
IEEE reach Provides pre -revival teachers with free resources who located science, technology and engineering in their social and human contexts. Resources provide students with an understanding of technologies, in which they have shaped society and in turn, the society has shaped them.
Protecting the history of our profession is important to promote innovation, motivate future generations, promote cooperation and ensure safe, durable and moral development of technology that will continue to shape our world.
