The London marathon is always one of the most special events on the running calendar, and I can’t wait to walk 26.2 miles around my city city.
This will be my eighth London marathon, but this phenomenon is never old, and I still use what gear to use that day.
While some of my marathon gears have been tried and tested, I am first using some kits in the marathon in London 2025, and I had to adjust my nutritional strategy a little to slightly adjust to a little that it is expected to be an unusually warm day on Sunday.
Below you will find products with ongoing shoes, watches and fuel, which I am using in this year’s London Marathon, which I hope will help me run a PR.
If you are running London (or any other marathon) and this is the beginning of your marathon, to make sure that you do not forget to forget anything to forget my colleague Jess Downey’s packing list for the first-time.
My marathon running shoes
I am using the best carbon plate running shoes for my marathon, because since the launch of the original Nike Vaporfly 4%, and I am using one of the most exciting new races to hit the market in 2025 on Sunday.
That shoe puma is a fast-R3 nitro alit. I have scored only a few runs so far, but I have been very impressed by its performance and I am eager to see how it looks for a full marathon before writing my review of the shoe.
My Go-to Racer Asics Metaspeed Sky Paris in the past, which I have run in two marathon PRS, so it will be interesting to see if Puma can match the standards of that shoe.
After the race I will slip on a pair of Oofos Ooah Sport Flex sandals – to wear after the race is a good idea to have some such comfortable recovery shoes in your kit bag. Consider it thanks to the feet that have taken you to 26.2 miles.
My marathon running watches
Clearly not me need The race has a great chance to wear two watches, but to do some tests and compare two best sports watches, to see how they perform in a big program.
My main running Watch Garmin is Fenix 8, which I have used throughout the training. It is accurate and provided useful insight into my training in the last few months, as well as the ambitious estimated time of 2:23:35.
On the second wrist I have the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which is another watch I love and one, in the past, in the past, proved to be very accurate for GPS in the tricky patch around the Canary Ghat on the London Marathon route, where skyscrapers make GPS difficult.
My marathon fuel strategy
After putting in training, I would say that the next most important thing is the next most important thing to fill fuel right to get rid of the race to avoid steam out of the steam and kill the wall.
I have a fuel strategy that I have used for 10 marathons that I am now using again in the London Marathon, and it involves carrying my own murtain sports drinks, which I do in a set of shorts with pockets.
Before the race I have a 500 ml bottle of 320 high-carb sports drinks of Mortain, as well as a precise fuel and hydration 1500 ml electrolyte tab in 500 ml water.
Electrolytes will be important as it is set to be hot than normal on the day of the race, the temperature collides with 70 ° F, so the runners will sweat more salts and will need to change them.
During the race I take some kind of carbohydrates every 5K. I carry three 250 ml soft flask with a murtain 320 sports drinks – two of them have a caffeine -ridden version of the drink – as well as a murtain 100 gel cafe.
I have a jail after 5K, and then every 5K I have been drinking 125 ml sports drinks since I have finished my bottles on 35K markers.
This is a lot of carbs and I am practicing with this strategy and consuming it on runs during training. This is nothing to try for the first time on Race Day.
I will also run water from the bottles available on the course during the race, and I can take some precise fuel and hydration electrolyte capsules because it is a hot day than expected.
Other items i am using
I do not listen to music during marathon, so there will be no headphones with me, or my phone, but my other key kit is included Tire Running Race WestWhich is comfortable and light, and some trusted half tights are from Decathalon that are no longer available, unfortunately.
Then I use on my feet Sporcks icon moving socksThose who are light, breathless and most importantly on the unicorn, which is why my daughter chose them. Hopefully, they are the only ones that I need to take me to the finish line in a PR on the day of the race.
