The following includes the endore season 2, spiiler for episodes 9. If you are not updated then turn back!
The galaxy has been replaced forever.
There is a huge moment in the endore season 2: Mon Mothama has given a speech that aims directly on Emperor Palapine after the Ghorman massacre.
Now, as some star Wars fans would know, this moment is actually painted on Star Wars Timeline in already animated show rebels – especially season 3, episode 18. But how does this episode match with endoor season 2?
Below, we break the events of both episodes to explain how they fit together, as well as how they vary. This is a very big moment for the galaxy that directly leads to the formation of the rebel alliance as we know, so it is worth the speed. We have also received some special quotes of Mon Mothama actor Geneviv O’Relli at this time.
So, for that more, head down.
How does Mon Mothma’s endore season 2 speech fit with Star Wars rebels?
In the rebels, we do not look at the entire speech, just a snipet is displayed on an Imperial broadcast viewed by the ghost crew.
“I name the emperor’s name to order myself to order cruel attacks on the people of Ghorman,” Som says in rebels. “His peaceful world is one of the countless systems against his oppressive rule. This genocide is a proof that our self-appointed emperor is slightly higher than a lie-lying executioner, applying his torture under the pretense of security. We cannot allow this evil to stand up.”
Now, in Andore Season 2, Episode 9, Som’s speech becomes very fierce, so it makes sense that Imperial would not want to transmit it (although, of course, non-canon clarification is just that the rebels were released long before the endore season 2, stating that the speeches do not match completely).
Som said that what happened on Ghorman “genocide” and declares that “the death of truth is the last victory of evil.” She then gives Pavatin the name of “demon”, before she is cut into power.
“I was very grateful to Tony (Gillroy) for this because there was a speech that was recorded in the animated rebels, which you are mentioning and so I did not think he would be able to write a speech and still was the most important moment for me,” Mon actor Jenveev O’Selli told us about the scene.
“This is why this woman (is), this is the risk, this is the moment where she puts everything at risk, puts her whole life at risk, and so how Tony engraves a place and yet (this) is respecting lore and canon and who lives first, and yet she created a place within our story to allow her to use her voice – and all that was something.
What happens in the endore season 2 and Star Wars rebels?
The Casian saves Som from the Senate and gets it for safety. However, it has been reported that no one would ever know that Casian was one who saved him – and, in fact, it has never been mentioned in Star Wars rebels.
We do not see what we don’t see in Andor, but what happens next in the rebels is that Mon goes to give another speech that units the rebellion from the cockpit of the ghost.
“I have no fear because I take new action,” she says. “Because I am not alone. From today, we stand together as colleagues.”
She then resigns as a senator and says “We will not rest until we end the empire; until we restore our Republic. Are you with me?” A lot of ships then appear in space with ghosts, which Mothama says “is our rebellion.”
From now on in Andor, then, we can expect to see the mon Mothma with which we are the most familiar – fearless leader of rebellion.
