The camera app has received some useful upgrade in iOS 26. The new app of a brand is much more to check out, up to the icon more convenient layout. I am using a new app for a few weeks, and here I have found every useful change.
A clever interface

I am liking Apple’s update for the camera app’s UI. This app is very less misleading when it is opened. First, there are only two options – photos and videos – to choose for you, making it easier to really jump into the right action. Once you choose how you want to use your camera, you can then reach additional options on the same screen, and Apple has reduced the number of camera -related tweex to your iPhone settings page, such as choosing what format you want to save your video. You also have the option to swipe on a photo or video button. However, my favorite feature is that pressing the name of your current camera mode for a long time provides even more options, such as adjusting the exposure, togling the night mode, twisting the focus, and more.
Adjust video settings in the camera app

By iOS 18, the shooting video can be disappointing very quickly. Most of the time, I was still fine, as I only needed to shoot in 1080p defaults in 30 FPS. But when I wanted to shoot 60 FPS videos, I had to start digging through my setting app. It has changed to iOS 26. When you open the camera app in iOS 26 and select the video mode, you will see the video format details in the top-left corner of the screen. Tap it to change the resolution and frame rate quickly. It is an excellent feature for anyone who uses its iPhone to shoot a video regularly.
Control your camera with your airpods

If you have an iPhone running iOS 26 that is paired with either a pair of airpods 4 or airpods Pro 2, you can use your headphone as a camera remote. Open the camera app on your iPhone and click on the photo or press the airpods stem to start/close video recording. This is really convenient for the time when you need to take photos from a strange angle, or when you want to take a good picture from a distance.

Many of us now have an iPhone with a camera control button (iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max). In iOS 26, the camera control button defales to launch the camera and switch you from one camera mode to another. But if you want to make other settings twinkle while taking photos, then you can now go Settings> Camera> Camera Adjustment And enable Camera adjustmentOn this page, you can choose controls you want to access. These include exposure, depth, zoom, style and tone.

Get a reminder to clean your camera

With iOS 26, your iPhone may also remind you to clean the camera lens when dirty. This feature is called a lens cleaning signal, and it is the iPhone 15 Pro and beyond (which suggests that it may be associated with AI, as they are phones that are compatible with Apple Intelligence). When your lens is dirty, your iPhone will show a small popover notification at the top of the viewparen, making you reminiscent of cleaning it. Once this happens, the popover will disappear.
Fortunately, if it finds you annoying, you can togle this feature Settings> Camera> Lens Cleaning Signs,
