The iPados 26 is coming to supercharged the productivity of your tablet. In WWDC 2025, Apple It was previewed as to what it has said the biggest software update of the iPad. You can eventually shape the app window dynamically. Meanwhile, the menu bar brings a drop-down to more organized controls. And all this is wrapped in Apple’s new liquid glass redesign. In all, iPad users have a lot to chew here to crave experiences like Mac.
Mac-like rumors about multitasking overhaul came out. The new windowing system allows you to “basically off, at least, change shape or tile (your) windows”. The raising options are not limited as the previous version of the stage manager. You can draw any shape by pulling a handle on the lower right. Or, flick all your windows to tile towards screen edges. (Prolonged pressure shows more tiling options.) And when you open the app again, your windows will return to their final position.
Expos also makes its way from Apple’s desktop. This shows your open windows in a tile array, making it easier to jump between them. And if any of those apps have long running work (eg export), then they will continue in the background. (They will show live activities.)
The menu bar comes from a Mac mainstay, iPad from Gate-Go. On MAC, the active app includes familiar menu entries such as file, edited, visual, window, format, arrangement, arrangement and aid. When using touch control, you can use the menu bar by swiping up from top to bottom. Or, when using a trackpad or mouse, click with your cursor.
The preview app also comes in iPados 26, allowing you to see and edit PDFs. By using Apple Pencil or Touch, you can mark your documents. It also includes autofil, so that you fill PDF form without third party software.
The file app receives an update to keep pace with new productivity chops of iPad. It has an updated list scene that displays more information about your documents. This includes resigned columns and collapse folders. You can also choose a default app for specific file types. (For example, edit photos with Photoshop, Darkroom or Pixelmeter.) Like Macos, drawing folders in the dock is a new option.
Large productivity overhaul follows the years of Saballer in that direction. When it came 15 years ago, the iPad worked with the physical keyboard, but only for typing. Trackpad support did not come after 10 years. Later, iPados 15 added a reference menu for window management. And the first phase manager brought a more mature multitasking atmosphere. But each of those tricks was only incremental. Some more “Pro” wanted the power users begging Apple. The new iPados 19 features look comparatively like a huge jump.
Productivity updates will not be limited to iPad Pro and Air. They also get entry-level models and iPad Mini.
The iPados 26 is wrapped in Liquid Glass Redigine, coming in all new software of Apple in WWDC 2025. You will see transportation and rounder icons to match the device corner. This is inspired by software for all Apple’s mixed reality headset.
Of course, the naming scheme of software is also new. Apple united his upcoming software by giving them all “26” numbers. Earlier, the version stood once every year. But since the company’s platforms were in different numbers, it could confuse something. So, from now on, all Apple will take the name of software Upcoming Year. (Although the update reaches this decline, it will be the real software for the wholesale of 2026.) Take out one for “iPados 19” that will never be.
There are also many small updates. The iPados 26 also includes Apple’s new dedicated game app. The phone app comes, from which you call and get from your tablet. (They were first converted into the facetime app.) An audio input selector, from which you choose separate microphones for each app. And new Apple Intelligence features including live translation are also here.
The first iPados 26 developer beta is now available. Will follow the public bets in July. The final version of the software will highlight this decline likely to be in or around in September.
