Issues to your asynchronous joles AI agent for Google coding – how to try it for free

    Google

The race to deploy AI agents is getting hot. Yesterday at its annual I/O Developer Conference, Google announced that Jules, its new AI coding assistant, is now available worldwide in public beta.

In launch, the company’s latest attempt has been marked for the corner of the cumbersome market for AI agents, which is widely considered as a more practical and profitable form of the chatbot in Silicon Valley. In fact, every other major tech veteran – including Meta, Openai and Amazon, has just launched its own agent product in recent months – to make some names.

Also: I let Google’s Jules AI agent go to my code repo and it worked for four hours in a moment.

Originally unveiled by Google Labs in December, Jules have been deployed as a reliable, automatic coding assistant that can manage a comprehensive suit of time -taking tasks from human users. The model is “asynchronous”, which in programming-spec, it means that it can start and work on tasks, without waiting for any one.

Later, the model provides a complete outline of changes that were made in the user’s code, providing clarity in its logic process.

    Gemini built on 2.5 Pro

Jules are manufactured Gemini 2.5 ProA large language model made by Google debut in March, at the time described it as “the most advanced model for complex tasks”. The Gemini 2.5 Pro excluded other industry-agar models, including Openai’s O3-Mini and Ethropic Cloud 3.7 on major benchmarks such as Sonnet, Math and Code Editing.

For example, Jules provides some advanced coding capabilities. This can work directly within the user’s codebase, for example, absorbing the full reference of a project and decision making without the need for sandbox (ie, a separate and controlled test environment). This directly integrates with github, eliminating the need to manually switch back and forth between coding platforms.

Also: Gemini Pro 2.5 is a surprisingly competent coding accessory – and a big threat to chat

Kathy Korvek, director of the product management at Google Labs, wrote in a company, “We are at a turn: the agentic development is transferring from the prototype to the product and quickly getting central how the software is made.” blog post Published yesterday.

While Google has not yet officially explained the inspiration behind the name for its new model, this may be an indication for visionary science-story writer Jules Verne. Its logo, an octopus, the author’s 1870 novels can be a loose alliance for twenty thousand league under the Sea, which has a huge squad, not an octopus. People were probably chosen to symbolize the ability of the model to manage multiple tasks at a time, such as the semi -rhythm weapon of an octopus.

Jules is now available for free in public beta, with some use limits. you can try it Here,

Disclosure: ZDNET’s original company Ziff Davis filed a April 2025 case against Openai, alleging that it violates Ziff Davis Copyright training and operating its AI system.
