All the best parent control apps focus on various characteristics and adopt their approach to the safety of children – and for KidsloxThis means that a significant concentration on location services.
Using this app, you will be able to see the places of your children, track the history of their location, and even see the routes taken by them. And beyond this, the kidslox gives screen time schedule, web filtering and app blocking.
On paper, then, it is a solid selection of features, but can Kidslox compete with big names such as Custodio, Ourpact and other strong contestants?
Plan and pricing
Kidslox is available in two pricing levels: basic and family. The basic package costs $ 3.09/£ 2.39 per month if paid annually, and the family option is $ 4.64/£ 3.59 per month with the same year-length deal.
As the name suggests, the original package is more limited – it works with a device, while you get support for ten on family options.
And when you block web filtering, location tracking, screen deadline, and app using both pricing models, if you choose the option of original service, you miss more advanced location capabilities with more new settings such as distant screen views.
features
Kidslox has the best location-tracking module that we have seen on any guardian control app. Along with providing real-time tracking, you can see your child’s location on your map, you can see the history of their location in the last seven days-so you can see the routes, where they stopped, and for how long.
When your child comes or leaves your specified areas, geoofinging is supported with immediate warning. The 1,000 meter geophushing radius is generous, and you can easily edit the zones you have already created.
By default, the kidslox sets a two -hour device range in the week and a three -hour limit on the weekend. Users can customize these limits as required, with the schedueling available for each day of the week. The boundaries are easy to adjust, and baby can request more screen time directly from within their version of the app.
The screen time is also lightly prepared for children: Parents can assign children’s work and reward them over time when completed.
Somewhere else, the kidslox provides sodtime lock schedueling, prevents information during night time, and the app supports up to five different screen time schedules.
Parent app immediately provides easy option for locking apps, and parents can also create a list of permanent access apps for permanent access – an easy feature for educational software. If necessary, parents can also lock the device completely.
The web content is filtered through a blockicist with more than four million URLs, and parents can easily add more sites to the list. Internet access can be completely locked if necessary, and children are not allowed to disable safe search settings manufactured in browsers such as Bing and Google.
Kidslox allows parents to view the browsing hyster and app use – later available only on Android. If children’s device uses Android, parents can take screenshots at any time and receive reports with a periodic screenshot of the device.
It is a good range of features, but it is worth taking a darker diving which features are available only in the family version of the app.
For example, all you receive an alert for improper discoveries, nudity, new app installation and locations. You have to pay for family package to get gamified time awards, location history and options to see your child’s discovery, YouTube and tiktok activity. This easy remote screen view option is also included in the Pricier version only.
It is also worth noting what facilities are not available in any of the kidslox pricing levels. Unlike other apps you cannot block websites according to the category or type, which provide dozens of options. Instead, you are limited to using full kidslox block list and individually adding your own sites.
Other apps hold data for a long time – some history of the kidslox is available for only seven days – and this app does not monitor the text message, call or social media app.
It would be useful if separate screen deadline could be determined for different apps. Additionally, there is no kelogging functionality available with this app.
Interface and in-use
It is an area where Kidslox Exhes. Download the app from Google Play or App Store, use an easy code to pair it with a child app on children’s phone, give the app necessary permissions, and you are good to go.
During the setup process GIF shows you properly what to do, which makes the installation even easier.
Once this happens, the impressive design continues. Along with being visually attractive, it is very easy to use, with a straightforward and spontaneous features placed wisely in the layout.
The figures are clearly displayed, and it is very easy to see what changes you are making. The same goes for the child’s app, also – everything is easy to understand.
Help
This is another area where the kidslox performs well. Its knowledge base and FAQ sections are broad and have an excellent starting point to solve most of the problems. Videos are also available to solve various general issues.
Children are accessed by emails and access to support, and if you like that approach then it is also possible to fill a web form and attach files.
Customer response indicates that kidslox email support is very responsible, also, with reactions within hours.
However, there is no live chat or phone support, so if you like access levels, you have to detect apps like Custodio. He said, at the time of writing, a message within the app was asking the parents whether they would like to use the phone support because it is an option that is considering the kidslox – so that feature can be added to the future.
Competition
The bark for social media monitoring is better than the kidalox – in fact, bark is one of the best options on the market for monitoring those types of apps.
And if you want to see how much time your children have spent on specific websites, then you should check the custodio.
Kidslox, however, competes well with its location capabilities, is appropriate in other areas, and easy to use. And it is also slightly cheaper than both its rivals: the family package is $ 40 cheaper than the annual premium plan of the Bark, and is also a well as well as Custodio.
final call
Kidslox is very strong when it comes to this location features, and its monitoring, reporting and screen time ability is all impressive – we prefer to reward your children to complete the work.
When it comes to web filtering and monitoring social media, calls and texts, however, the kidslox is weak. It would be better if web filtering had categories. Beyond its screenshot capabilities, this app cannot monitor social apps, calls or texts. And that’s all that the original package is – it recalls many characteristics that justify buying kidslox at first.
It is easy to install and use, however, it is strong when it comes to location capabilities, and it is cheaper than the competition. If you need to monitor social media or if you want better filtering, but kidslox is not ideal for affordable location-based tracking, it is good.
