Kunitsu-Gammy Joy-Con 2 on Switch 2 is a case study in mouse control

I initially missed a new IP from Kunitsu-Gammi: Path of the Devi, Capkom, which got mixed towers defense in a way with the action of the third person, which equally caught the attention of critics and gamers. A switch 2 version felt the right opportunity to catch on the rebound, especially since it puts a spotlight on the complicated mouse control mode of the new Joy-Con 2 controllers. There are some issues in this new port, but it is a fully capable way to play this interesting, small game, and the mouse part is legally impressive for several reasons.

On one side the gimmick gimmick, the basis of the core gameplay works with Kunitsu-Gammy, is a hit in itself. You can read the review of Josh Broadwell for a full randown for shakanues here, but even the first few levels show that not only do this style mashup work, the team of Capkom kept their concept with a elegance that you rarely see in the first attempt. It sounds good to run around a platform, directing its units, and fighting their own hands dirtyly fighting enemies dirtyly dirty, as they exit their Macabre, other gates. It is an explosion from jump.

On Switch 2, the clear hook is mouse control. And this is not just their appearance or how well the cursor has to be transferred around the work. It is utility and suicide that brings this feature home as more than a gimmick. By the time I have separated Joy-C2S, I can simply bend the right in my hand and the game will swap in mouse mode immediately. The mouse controls the camera and direct action, while I can move around and stay with the left joy-con. It works perfectly to navigate the menu and most importantly units around the area. Because it is very comfortable, I can use the right joy-v in the controller mode for parts that feel better in this way (although your mileage may vary), just bend the daran cheese or quickly remove it from the control dock device for any precision, for which I want the mouse. Nintendo has created a reputation for its unconventional concepts “simply work”, and this is no exception.

As far as the performance is concerned, there are professionals and opposition. This is not a game that magically runs on 1080/60fps, and there are some compromises. In handheld mode, the texture may look slightly fuzzy when attached to a regular gameplay, although things are good and crisp when reading in Cuttack or text. The TV mode is overall clear, although you are watching in any way about the 30-frame rate. This is fine, because there are lots of gorgeous, busy effects on the screen that a clear attention on stability on raw numbers stops.

HDR is the place where things are a bit strange, though. Either something is closed, or menu in which you do a bad job by explaining the settings tweet settings themselves. In any way, the settings that look “right” when you read the instructions are absurd dark, and you have to make them Twitter to look good. In the handheld it seemed almost better to close HDR, and it is difficult to say whether it is a problem with switch 2, some can cure some capcom, or what. It is certainly cowardice, at least to say, and some tampering is required to look good.

On one hand, it is easy to see why our reviewer liked Kunitsu-Gammi so much in the first place. This is an excellent game, and even a person like me who usually kills anything on the “strategy” is a great time. Is this a particularly forgiving difficulty level result? Perhaps. But I am already doing zones to play more. I am not a PC gaming sick, so the mouse mode does not really do much in the long period, but it is clearly impressive and has been fully implemented in this case. Anyone who continues to order units to make other maneuver with a controller, with a controller, there will be ecstasy here. Switch 2 is definitely cooking in several different ways, and Kunitsu-Gammy is an ideal use for mouse control.
