May 2025 is giving shape to be a quiet month for the game release, especially with the lost soul being delayed by 29 August. Nevertheless, there are some major titles that are getting excited about PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox and PC.
Topping in the list is doom: dark edge, long-awaited prequel of ID software that trades science-fi for medieval massacre, and Alden Ring: Nitrigan, the first major expansion of cesoftware for their stylish-abolished RPG.
Meanwhile, switch players may be ready for Capkom Fighting Collection 2, which is a retro-pack sequel filled with arcade favorite and classics.
If you are looking to do something new in this May, then here are the five biggest games launch you want on your radar.
The Midnight Walk (8 May)

Platform: PS5, PS VR2, Steam and Steamvr
The midnight walk sounds like one of the rare sports that feel that it was created by those who love the story as much as they love the game.
You play as a burnt one, which is a twisted, soil -made figure that creeps out of the earth and sets on a trip to the highway similar to a dream. On the way, you meet Potboy, a small, flicker lantern creature that becomes your guide.
You both go through five terrible small stories, all are tied together with the subject of fire. Everything is handcuffed with soil and brought to life with stop-motion animation, which gives it an unstable, almost touch vib. There is something comfortable and frightening about it at a time.
If you have found PSVR2, it can actually be under your skin. The world is probably quite strange on a flat screen, but in VR, it is likely to be completely transported. Certainly one of the most complicated release of May.
Qayamat: The Dark Age (15 May)

Platform: PS5, Xbox Series X | S, pc
Doom: The dark edge feels that ID software is going back to the basics in the most brutal way.
Set in a medieval-induced world, it trades space stations for war-made palace and Gothic Helcops. But there is still a feeling of doom: rapid, incredible violence and weapons that feel that they weigh.
The game works hard to make the series distinguished in the first place. What is interesting here as tone shift it looks like a dark, grime, low neon-metal and more severe steel. I am eager to see how the game handles pacing, especially with new scuffle mechanics and heavy armor design.
The trailers also show a glimpse of siege war and even dragon -like mounts, which seems wildly ambitious for doom. I did not realize how much rem If you grow up at doom, it looks like a cruel love letter.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (16 May)

Platform: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Looks like a love letter for fans that enlarge button-mashing in the arcade or move around the old console with friends.
While the first collection focused on the darkstockers and some more recognizable titles, it dug deep into the subscribed calendar’s video, more vague back catalogs. Fools such as rival schools and cyberbats may not be domestic names, but for those who miss them are indifferent gold.
It is not a revolutionary release (not trying to be), but these audball fighters have some comfort about giving some comfort in one place, especially on the switch on modern hardware.
Whether you are for hand -prepared sprite, bizarre characters, or simply see a time again when the fighting sports were filled with personality, it could have hit a sweet place.
Alden Ring Nitrigan (30 May)

Platform: PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PC
Alden Ring: Nitrigna is one of the rare expansion that feels like an event, and it is definitely the largest release this month.
Formsoftware does not hold by hand, and it is part of the appeal. Nightrign has promised new horrors, a new part of the map, and more about that cool, beautiful fear that made the base game and its recent DLC, Edry of Chhaya, unforgettable.
The new area is called dark and more vertical, with shifting weather and secrets deep burial.
For long -term fans, this expansion is not just an extension, but there is a reason to fall back into the abyss, the sword in the hand, thinking what is that thing in the fog.
F1 25 (May 30)

Platform: PS5, Xbox Series X | S, pc
The F1 25 feels that the series has started looking for its rhythm again. After a couple of unequal entries, it seems to be an event that it is eventually addressing what the dedicated fans have asked – more realism, smarter AI, and that intoxication “just another lap” spirit.
My father always has a soft place for F1 games, even when he stumbles, because the stress of the weight-track qualifier or the strategy of the pit strategy mid-race is nothing similar to (as they have told me many times).
With heating the 2025 season of real life, I am sure that many people will find it satisfied by jumping into a virtual version and trying to improve it.
Whether you are for full career mode or a few laps after work, F1 25 feels that it is more towards fans who actually cares about racing.
