In the last one week, Linnary has become inaccessible in India, some users have raised the issue on X. Initially, Techcrunch saw that the site briefly displayed a message that suggested that it was blocked by the Government of India. Later, it was replaced by a general SSL protocol error. The Linkian app has also been inaccessible in the country.
Established in 2016, Linnachty became a unicorn in 2022 and crossed 50 million users in 2024. India has been the fifth largest market in the platform by traffic, accounting for 3.5% of its global trips-or about 7.3 million in July, according to similar data shared with Techcrunch.

Linnian co-founder and CEO Alex Zacaria told Techchchan that the startup was looking into a situation. However, the executive did not confirm whether the startup has received communication from Indian authorities on its interruption.
Startup later Posted On X that it was known about the service outage in India and was “investigating” on the issue.
As Informed By Indian daily The Hindu, outage is not limited to a specific Internet service provider and affects all major networks.
The US with 48.5 million visits, Indonesia (32.3 million), Brazil (30.8 million), and the UK (9.4 million), with similar data shows, remains in the top market of Linnary.
India’s IT and Telecom Ministries did not respond to the emails sent over the weekend.
