Garmin may soon provide a new option for someone who wants sleep and recovery data without strap on a heavy smartwatch overnight.
According to a new report, the brand behind some of the best fitness trackers in the market may prepare to launch a minimum health band, with no screen, focusing on sleep tracking, and major features such as heart rate monitoring and smart alarm.
The band will allegedly include optical heart rate sensors of gamin and support the smart alarm that detects mild sleeping stages – currently similar to the features found in many best garden watches.
Blog The5krunnerIn which there is a track record of reporting on unpublished garmin products, “100% sure” claims that the device exists, “source documents” and in early July or August 2025, citing a launch window.
Why go to screenless?
The appeal of the screenless device is simple: comfort and discretion. Many users find it uncomfortable to wear the bulkyer multisort watches of germin overnight, especially for sleep tracking. A compact restband can provide uniform insight without a large appearance and can be more desirable to wear continuously for some.
It can also attract those who prefer to wear traditional or luxury clock during the day but still want to track health matrix around the clock.
How can it be compared to what?
If released, the germin sleep band naturally compare the whoop strap, which is a screenless health tracker that collects round data on sleep, stress and recovery. However, WHOOOP requires a payment subscription, with the cheapest level currently costing $ 199 per year to reach core features. You can read our full Whats 5.0 review of how it works.
In contrast, the business model of gamin, usually does not lock the health data behind a pewall. While some new features are associated with its recent alternative connect+ subscription, core matrix such as heart rate variability (HRV), sleep stage and body battery free.
If the garmin continues to the path, a subscription-free sleep band can appeal to those who want advanced health tracking without any constant cost.
There are still many unknown
While the report provides some complicated details, much is not clear. No pricing, design, or indication that the device will support tracking trekking independently or will require a pair with a gamin watch.
It is also not clear that this band will use the latest elevate V5 sensor of gamin, which is found in high-ending devices such as Fenix 8 and Forer 970, which will increase accuracy for sleep and recovery metrics.
