Nintendo Life: Limited Run Games have been held Some Fambal Here and there in the last few years, but we have always appreciated how much the team has tried to ensure that the best version of a game is included on the cartridge or disc. WasE is likely to release raidou completely removing the fully removal on an option on a switch 2 cartridge? If yes, what did you do and Sega went to the game-key route?
Josh Fairherst, CEO of Limited Run Games: When our participation on a game is limited to the version of only one collector, as it was for the game dead Space And Allen Wake IIWe buy standard version games that go directly to our partner or their distributor in versions of the collector. Until otherwise noted, these standard versions will always match their retail counterparts. We really have no participation in building those pieces – they just reach our warehouse when ready. We are not really different from a retailer in these situations.
When we are offering a version of a collector for a game, we prefer to offer the version of that collector in all the platforms available. If we chose to exclude a platform for any reason, what the customers wanted would be upset about not having that option. Thankfully, this means that we are always offering a mixture of platforms, so if the distribution format for a platform does not conform to your needs, other options are available.

What is going to happen with a limited run number release for Switch 2? Is there any possibility that you can also release game-key cartridges in this format? Is there any ability to see the switch 2 cartridge from Limited Run that also plays on Switch 1, so much in such a way how Marvelas is handling the upcoming release of the Guardians of Azuma in such a way that Marvelus is handling the upcoming release factory?
If the limited run standard version switch 2 games, it will always use a real cartridge. We have no plans to support the game-key card format on the titles where we are manufacturers and publishers.
As far as dual switch and switch 2 release Go: Yes, you can expect it to see it with some of our release. I do not know all the technical details that it happens to make reality, so I cannot promise that it will always be, but purely from a professional point of view it makes more understanding than fracturing customers between different switch and switch 2 releases.
Can you help shed some light on why so many publishers are choosing to go on the game-key route? We will imagine this cost, but what other factors you can help us understand?
I do not think this is purely cost. Retail requires a long amount of lead time to release a game. This means that there is a need to complete the game and approve three to four months before the date of its planned retail launch with platform holders. This is a large amount of time that publishers do not have frequently and it usually results in retail release that contains early buildings that require a patch to work for a large scale. These days the games often come in ‘hot’, so the luxury of the lead time of three to four months for retail is virtually non-existing. The game-key cards give publishers a way to prepare a retail product over time, while the appropriate lead required for retail, while still gives them the opportunity to ‘get hot’ for the game.

Do you have a plan around any title, on-the-card physical release that the publishers have already announced as a game-key card release?
This is something we are looking for and something that I would like to do, but it is a surprisingly difficult pitch. To explain why: There are some notable sports that have mostly released digital retail on the original switch and I have tried to pitch true physical release for them. Unfortunately, there was a fear that it could be difficult to move the already existing retail stock from any new release. I have run into the same issue here. This does not mean that I will not continue trying, though! I am sure some companions will bite.
Possibly, you have to charge more for sports on large capacity switch 2 carts. Are you able to give collectors a ballpark idea that Limited Run can cost 64GB switch 2 game in retail?
I don’t know that many people know about it, but we are only part of a handful of publishers who were ever upset to use 32GB cartridges on the original switch. They were really expensive. I cannot go into nuances here, just saying that one reason is that most publishers cannot take the risk of using them. They release – alien: isolation and doomt eternal – in fact our traditional pricing model vs. both were not out of the scope of the digital value tag of sports, despite their crazy cost of their cartridges. Depending on our experience with those releases, I will not expect us to see that we usually deviates much more than the price of products, even if the cartridges are more expensive.
The current tariff uncertainty causes major problems for the operation of any publisher in the US, how much does it affect the limited run business?
Not much, honestly, out of making it extremely difficult for forecast. Everything varies so fast that nothing has really got a chance to impress us.

Do you cancel or delay any possible product due to tariffs?
Candidation: Not at all. Delay: It is difficult to say because Tariff has very universally universally motivated manufacturers to catch their products in China. This means that now there is a high amount of product to leave the country. Similar to the situation during the epidemic, it means that it can be difficult to book shipping crates out of the country, while everyone is scratching to use a 90-day stagnation on tariffs.
Thankfully, we could not stop our delivery during the situation and continued to receive in the last six weeks. I can’t just say that the situation will not affect us in any way because it is a very complex global problem that includes force beyond our control.
Finally, can you confirm how the taste of switch 2 carts is?
Thankfully, I have heard that this is a great taste similar to the original switch cart. I was personally hoping with red cartridges that a bit of cherry twist could be added to bitterness.
Thank you to Josh for taking time to answer our questions.
