Apple’s Macos Sequoia follow-up is expected to release late this year on release with iOS 26 (or iOS 19, if the rumor does not have a rumor).
Tech giants are allegedly going to overhaul the interface for all their operating systems under the Monicer Solarium, inspired by Visionos’ transit roundness.
Unfortunately, not every Mac will receive fresh Macos 26, which will be dubbed “cheer”. Apple insider Reporting that Intel-based Mac will not support the update.
These are specific models who cannot find Macos 26:
- 2017 Imac Pro
- 2018 Mac Mini
- 2018 MacBook Pro Model
- 2020 MacBook Air (with Intel Chips)
It is not completely surprising that those models will lose support for this year’s MACOS version. They are already the oldest Apple computers which are officially compatible with Macos Sequoia, introduced in 2024.
They were likely to be on the chopping block for official support, regardless of Apple’s plan to re -design the UI.
Meanwhile, these are devices that we hope that they should support the solarium look:
- 2019 MacBook Pro 2019 or later
- 2019 Mac Pro or later
- 2020 IMAC or later
- MacBook Air M1 or later
- Mac Mini M1 or later
- Mac Studio – All Models
Macos 26 labeling is rumored as a major change from Apple to unite all its operating systems with a year-based convention. How car makers named new versions of vehicles, similarly, will mention 26 2026, but will launch this year.
According to Apple Insider, the first developer for MACOS 26 should come out with a 17 GB file size around WWDC in June, which is about 2 GB larger than Sequia. They also believe that Apple will place its California Naming Conference with a trademark filed as a potential options for Redwood, Skyline or Diablo.
Apple’s software schemes will be made public during WWDC 2025, which is scheduled to begin on 9 June.
