Is running in The new product category is a nervous venture for any company, and the current climate of the tariff rough only combines another level of uncertainty. But the marshal, manufacturer of iconic guitar Emps and consumer audio products, is marching regardless of their first soundbar launch, with the launch of their first soundbar. And at $ 1000, Atmos-Saksham Heston 120 is an ambitious first entry.
“This is our most expensive product. And honestly, it’s a little scary,” Marshall’s main product and innovation officer Gustaf Rosel told Wired in an interview. “But since this is a new section for us, we decided that we wanted to start at a higher end. We do not always do this, but in this case we thought that it is important to make a statement – to show that we are really serious about it.
The idea of adding a soundbar to his line up is the one that has been kicking around the company’s discussion for the last five years, Rosel says, but about three of them are in production for. The result is Heston 120, a 5.1.2-channel Atmos and DTS X Soundbar, with 11 different drivers to offer a wide and high soundfield from a box.
Tuning a product for so many channels has been a new challenge for martial, and it brought new expertise on the board-even in drawing talent from the motor vehicle industry for its multi-channel experience. “We currently have two PhDs in the house, this is the level of capacity,” says Rosel. “We actually worked closely with Dolby to help us in some hard measurements, to make sure that we are keeping the sound items correctly in a room.”
However, a special attention to the sound team, Rosel tells us, the balance between TV is good and is also good for music-a common difficulty for bilti-channel audio products. Heston 120 certainly comes with a lot of music options to put it in the test, including Airplay 2, Goglecast and Bluetooth, plus tidal and spotf connect.
“Music playback is an area where we are capable of bending in our current expertise, and in Heston 120 all drivers are using some modeling from our portable speakers to ensure that, as well as working together in another classical stereo setup.
Another important focus for the team was the design of the product, but perhaps not in such a way that anyone familiar with martial products can think. While its speakers are known for their different looks, reminiscent of the famous amplifiers of the brand, Heston 120 dial returns that approach, just a little bit.

“Many products in this area look very similar, they are trying to mix, and when TV is trying its best to hide themselves, then you need to find the right tone.
“But Heston Is A conscious design option for those who want something different, we are not trying to hide. It is a bold statement, but not as bold as we could. I think we have found a balance that seems authentic. ,
