
The British retailer giant Marx and Spencer (M&S) has suspended the online order while working to overcome the recently revealed cyber attack.
The multinational retailer operates more than 1,400 stores, employs 64,000 employees globally, and sells various products including clothes, food and household items.
The M&S, which reported a revenue of £ 13 billion for FY24, is listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and included in the FTSE100 Index, the most famous stock market index of the UK.
“As part of our active management of a cyber phenomenon, we have decided to take an order through our M&S.com websites and apps. Our product range is available to browse online. The M&S first revealed the cyber security incident in the London Stock Exchange Press release for the first time on Tuesday, stating that its team is working with external cyber security experts to manage and solve the situation.
No ransomware operations or other danger groups have claimed responsibility for the M&S attack, and a final data leak does not soon expect as danger actors take some time to pressurize the victims to pay ransom demands.
However, if a ransomware gang is behind this attack, its operators are likely to steal the M&S data that can be used as forced recovery.
