    Meet two Apple Swift Student Challenge Champs Building Apps that solve real world problems

    Coding skills can be applied to deal with real -world problems. Apple’s Swift Student Challenge supports the next generation of developers, creators and entrepreneurs who want to join.

    Apple’s Swift Student Challenge invites students around the world to embrace their coding skills and use Swift-Coding Language for all Apple platforms-to create an app playground that deal with the real world problem of selection.

    “This is really a way for people around the world, different experiences, different backgrounds, people of different age, actually their passion, their creativity and their coding skills are able to display their way in a way, which is really relevant to them,” said the VP of Susan Pescott, Developer Relations, Education and Enterprises.

    Abelling first joined the coding when he learned about the Swift Student Challenge in the sixth grade, becoming a self-affected programmer. He used $ 350 on eBay used the money saved from ice and grass -cutting lawn to buy MacBook Air, which he used to apply to the Swift Student Challenge.

    “The main reason I got in programming in the first place, to be able to help people,” Abbeling said.

    Middlebrooks is a student at Apple’s Detroit Developer Academy, and she created a balance-support tool. The inspiration for their coding projects came from her experience with the vestibular migraine and can help her struggle to find software.

    Beyond the creation of a practical tool to help people deal with balance disorders, one of the greatest motivations of Middlebroke had to let people go through similar experiences that they were not alone and had a community to support them.

    “With my projects working with those who have balance disorders like themselves, I felt that it was really important to remind them that their experience is not in a bubble, it could be related to some others, that help and support for them,” said the Middlebrokes.

    Middlebrokes said that when you work on a project, something about the project you are emotional happens and there is a personal relationship for it.

    Future applicants

    If you are interested in applying for the next cycle, ebeling and middlebroks suggest giving it a shot.

    “If you want to learn to code, you can fully do,” said Middlebrokes. “There are resources and people who are ready to support you and help you.”

    Abbeling said that, if you want to start learning to code, Swift is the “right” language due to its open-ended nature and underlying libraries, which helped them go from zero to 100, such as, in fact, quickly. ”
