Microsoft has quietly fixed a problem, which has broken the Start menu jump list for all apps on the Windows 10, version 22H2 running system.
Windows 10 Jump List feature allows users to quickly access the recently opened files and tasks using the reference menu on right-clicking the icon of the app in the Start menu or Windows taskbar.
As Microsoft explained the Windows release Health Dashboard in an update, this problem was caused by one Controlled facility rollout (CFR) which began in March 2025, leads the account control experiences that made it easier for users to manage their accounts.
Following the user reports indicating the issue, Microsoft stopped the buggy feature rollout in late April to prevent it from affecting more equipment.
“Microsoft has received the report of users being unable to see the jump list for apps, including the recent list of files used, while right-clicking on the app tile in the Start menu, 25 February, 2025 (KB5052077) and later on updated equipment,” Microsoft said,
“The rollout has been stopped to prevent this issue since April 25, 2025, so no new equipment should experience it, and first affected users should not experience it after this date.”
