According to the email, the first phase will focus on employees who live in the Pugat Sound, Washington region, and will begin around 23 February. “If you live within 50 miles of the Microsoft office, you will be expected to work on three days a week (late February),” reads the email.

The RTO mandate will then expand other offices in the US and eventually, internationally, for which the plan will begin in 2026.

Memo said the rest of the employees will listen to their “EVP or organizational leadership with specific guidance today,” reads email. “If you are out of the Pugate Sound area, you do not need to take any action at this time until your EVP otherwise communicates.”
Coleman wrote, “We have seen how our teams work best, and the data is clear: When people work together in a person, they thrive – they are more energetic, strong, and they give strong results,” Kolman wrote.
