Microsoft’s new AI feature will automatically organize your photos

Microsoft has initiated a new AI-operated feature testing in Microsoft photos, which is designed to automatically classify photos on the Windows 11 system.

Dubbed auto-classification, it is currently limited to sorting screenshots, receipts, identification documents and notes, and it is rolling the Microsoft Photo version 2025.11090.25001.0 or all Windows insider rolling for Copillot+ PCs in Insider channels with or higher.

Microsoft says that this feature uses a language-ignorant AI model that identifies documents types regardless of the language used in the image. This works by automatically combining the photo in predetermined folders, such as their visual materials, such as handwritten notes, receipts or printed documents.

Photo apps will help users find immediate classified images, using categories in the left navigation sidebar or search for them quickly. Users will be able to replace categories manually or “provide a response to improving accuracy.”

Microsoft Senior Product Manager Ronnie Myers ” Said in a Friday blog post,

“Auto-classification automatically organizes and organizes your photo collection into meaningful categories using screenshots, receipts, identification documents, and notes. It is designed to save time, reduce dislocation and make your photo library easier.”

Bleepingcomputer reached a Microsoft spokesman, to ask if this AI facility sends any information to the Microsoft’s server or uses local AI models, but a reaction was not available immediately.
