My weight knows about measuring and creating digital parameters for domestic and mild commercial use. So, this would seem to be a rimis to exclude such a company from my kitchen scales test list.

My weight KD -8000 scale looks much more chronic than others, which I have tested, especially when the dual platform of kitchen -to -kitchen scale and Joseph Joseph’s switchscale, which are both clean and compact.
When I first unpacked the KD -8000, I felt that it looks old -fashioned, without any deliberately indication of retro vibe, like a contemporary kitchen parameters without smug.
The basis of the scale is quite boxing and has a display sitting at an angle – this makes it easier to read the measurement.
You will also find a clear shield that protects the touchpad button and LED display from the mess. I do not like the appearance of this feature, but if you are messed up in the kitchen like me, it helps to keep the performance and button free from flour and sticky fingers.

The platform for the scale is raised slightly above the base and can be removed for cleaning, which is a plus. Below you will find a socket for battery housing, and back, power adapter.
The power adapter is included in the box, and is an easy feature that allows you to switch the plugs between the US and the UK sockets, without the need for a special adapter.
Behind the scale, you will also find switch buttons for sound level and LED light display, which will give you or options for closure.
If you are looking at the design alone and for the kitchen scale to look beautiful on your countertop, this is not for you. But, let’s see how it performs.

powering up
With two options to power up, I decided to use the KD -8000 power adapter instead of inserting a 3X AA battery, which you would need to supply to yourself.
I was found to be cumbersome because it gets on the way and restrictions where you keep the scale, but it does not require you to hunt for the right size battery. But if you decide to insert the battery, a battery less indicator will be displayed when they are running less.
You have to raise a clear protective cover to reach the touchpad before pressing the On/Off button. Each time the measure is on, it runs a super quick diagnostic test, and it displays an upside count. Do not be worried; It takes only 3 seconds before reseting at zero.
Control and measurement
You can choose the measurement according to your wish by pressing the ‘Mode’ button. Here you get five options – grams, kilograms, ounces, pounds and ounces, and pounds cover every possibility.
You will also get a Tare function, which resets the scale at zero. It is a feature when weighing more than one item, and reduces the need to use several bowls. I will not consider buying a kitchen scale without one.
I was impressed to find the ‘hold’ button, which would appear on the LED display when in use. This will wear the current weight setting.
You can also set the speed of weight response and auto-off settings, another feature that I have not faced before. Here you can choose a scale response time by selecting ‘NBO’, ‘NB1’ or ‘NB2’, with the fastest option. You can adjust the display auto-off settings until the scale is closed or lasts for about 2 or 5 minutes.
When I initially tested the Auto Power of Mode, designed to conserve energy, it was set on the default mode ‘off 2’ and switched off after 1 minute 50 seconds.
Display
The LED display on My Wet KD -8000 is clear, and additional options to switch to blue backlight. It is a large display, which measures 3 (W) X 1 (H) inch, so you will not need squint to read the measurement. This reminded me of the bridge-out display on Oxo’s stainless steel food scale.
However, I was found to be annoying acrylic protective cover. I went to press the touch button without picking up the protective cover. You can slip by picking up the cover and slipping from its clip, which means that you will not have a strange issue of lifting the flap to reach the button, but doing so makes the cover meaningless!
platform
My Weight KD -8000 has a good -sized platform, measuring 7 inch x 7 inch, and its flat nature is much better than Eskali Primo Digital Kitchen Scale, which limits the size of the bowl you place on top.
When you unpack the scale for the first time, you have to attach the platform to the base, and it can be removed to wash. I was hesitant to remove it at first, as I was worried about breaking plastic pegs that fit in the base, but I felt the easiest way to drop the scale down and the stage would slide out.
storage
You cannot ignore that this kitchen measure is large, especially given that it does not have a bowl. Alternatively, Joseph Joseph Switchscale has a bowl that flipped to store above the base. It is definitely not smooth and sexy, but it is a kitchen scale and a practical function.
Percentage of Baker – What is all this?

This is my weight KD-8000 scale specially ready for those bakers who want to use the ‘percentage’ function without the trouble of getting stuck with mathematics.
So what is the percentage of baker and how does the facility work? The idea behind the formula is to allow the bakers to scale or score a recipe. And instead of using the cup to measure the material, the exact scales are used for accuracy to give the correct balance of the material.
The dough is the base component, which is measured at 100%, and from here water, salt, yeast and any additions are based on the percentage of total flour weight.
So within the user manual, my weight gives an example of flour at 100%, water at 65%, butter at 5%, salt at 2%, yeast at 1%and milk at 0.75%. And based on how many rotis you want to make, you can up or down the recipe.
I weighed 200 grams of flour, pressed the ‘%’ button, and it set to 100%. I was then capable of holding a percentage setting and adding 65% water.
Although I like to bake homemade bread, this function is a step for me, but I can see it as a real advantage for those who have my own cottage bakery running at home.

I test with all the kitchen parameters, I use calibrated weight in grams and pass through a set of standard tests using personal and many weight kept in the center and outer edges of the waiting platform.
I started with my weight KD-8000 by placing 1G calibrated weight at the center, and like the kitchen scales I tested, like that, it did not enter weight. Only kitchen scales have been tested so far that small weight was registered, Eskali’s Primo Digital Kitchen Scale and Kitchenad’s double platforms were accurate scale on the digital kitchen scale.
However, it was not unpredictable, and I tested all the loads including 2G, 3G, 5G, 10G, 20G, 50G, and 100G, all gave an accurate reading where they were placed on a scale.
I also found that the reading on KD -8000 was quick and stable without any fluctuations. In fact, a ‘I’ icon appears to indicate on the icon display that the current reading is stable.

I continued my test and placed 1G, 20G, 50G and 100G weight on the platform with a total measurement of 171g. When the weight was placed at the center, the scale was accurate, but when I took them to the shore, it was 1G below.

If you have turned on the sound behind the scale, you will also hear a beeping noise. My weight warns that you can permanently damage your scale and overload the warranty to zero.
I finished my test by placing a small bowl on the platform, selected the tare function and put a teaspoon of yeast in the bowl. In this case, the measurement is registered on 4G, while it measured 3G on other parameters.

One of the main benefits of My Weight KD -8000 is that you can remove the platform for cleaning, which makes it particularly useful if you want to put meat and other proteins directly on the platform, as you can clean it completely.
Although I do not like the display cover, it can also be removed, and it helps to keep the display the cleaner, if it was not there, but it depends on whether you want to keep it in place or separate it.
I would recommend wiping the scale of the scale with a clean, damp cloth, however, there are no instructions online or within the user manual to clean the kitchen scale.

My weight KD-8000 kitchen scale is not my favorite, but it all depends on what you want out of the kitchen scale. It has a good size weight platform, a clear LED performance and a grand ability to measure up to 8kg. What is more, you have the option to switch between direct power supply or battery using.
Although the acrylic cover protects the display that makes me find strange and cumbersome to use, and needs to be raised or removed to use the touchpad. I use the Tare function a lot, so it proved to be easy to completely remove completely, rather than to reach the button continuously to reach the button.
