According to new research conducted by NASA, scientists found that 540 million years ago, the change in the strength of the Earth’s magnetic field was correlated with ups and downs in atmospheric oxygen. In addition, it suggests that procedures at the origin of the Earth can affect the habit on the surface of the Earth. The Earth’s magnetic field increases by the flow of materials in the melted part of its interior, acting like a huge electromagnetic. This flow is not completely stable, and it inspires changes in the magnetic field of the Earth over time.

    Magnetic field affected by atmosphere

As NASA’s Earth Science News TeamScientists argue that magnetic field is very important to protect the atmosphere from erosion through energetic particles growing from the Sun. However, the author of Study in science advances It is suggested that the role of magnetic fields in protecting the atmosphere is an area that requires more research. Before knowing the complexity of oxygen levels and the cause-and effect relationship between the magnetic fields, the authors of the study decided to decide to add changes to the magnetic field and environment.

How did scientists find this relationship

When hot minerals inside the earth flow with magma at intervals between tectonic plates and cool, they can record the magnetic field of the surrounding area. Scientists have reduced oxygen levels from ancient rocks and minerals, as their chemical material is dependent on the available oxygen amount at the time of their formation.

According to Vizia Kuang, a geophysicist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, this correlation can help us know the development of life and how it is relevant to the internal process of the planet. Compared to two datasets, scientists found that there is a connection between the growing and falling patterns of both the Earth’s magnetic field and oxygen in the atmosphere, when the lifetime came into existence, dating back into the Cambrian explosion.

    Future scope and research

Scientists will check for a long dataset in future whether the correlation progresses in time or not. For specific reasons for correlating the deep interior of the Earth for the residence on the surface, researchers say that it is to be done more work to find out.
