Mission

As NASAThe Space Launch Complex 4 East will be launched on the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Space Launch Complex 4 East at the Wandenberg Space Force Base in California. The twin spacecraft will travel at a distance of about 341 miles from the planet through polar cups, which is a small area of ​​the Earth’s magnetic field, where the solar air is concentrated and funnel in our atmosphere.

To check the location and frequency of an event known as magnetic re -combining magnetic re -combining near the exterior boundaries of the Earth’s magnetic field, the tracer mission will fly into the North Polar Tail several times each day.

David Miles is leading the tracer mission at the University of Iowa and is managed by the South West Research Institute at San Antonio. The Heliophysics Division at the NASA headquarters in Washington looked at the project through the Heliophysics Explorers Program Office at the agency’s Goddard Space Flight Center at Greenbelt, Maryland.
