Many psychological thriller cannot say that they were inspired by a true story, but it is a case for “Ihosage”, a dramatic retail of 2022 hostage conditions that came up in an apple shop in Amsterdam.

Directed by Bobby Bormans and written by Simon de Wall, it was manufactured with significant inputs from sources close to the original case. It uses everything from CCTV footage to body cam to make things feel as real as possible, the film can be grounding in such a way that it makes it more chilling as a spiral out of the condition.

“Ihostage” exploded Soufian Moussouli as Ammer Azar, an armed attacker who burst into a store claiming to be trapped with explosives.
