The new balance ribel V5 is a shoe runner that needs to be known. For me, this makes wildly popular popular shoes like Nike Pegasus 41 and Hoca Clift 10 as a daily trainer for its comfortable, versatile ride.
It is not an extraordinary sharp shoe, but even it works enough due to its light design, and it is highly stable for such light shoes.
Overall it ticks almost all boxes, and its reasonable price also helps make it one of the best running shoes.
As long as you want a sharp daily trainer like Adidas Adizero Evo Sl, or Asics Novablast 5 like a shoe, then rebel V5 should be at the top of your list.

The new balance launched in May 2025 costs Ribel V5 and US $ 140 and UK costs £ 140, for a daily trainer and with its main rivals asics Novablast 5 and Adidas Adizero Evo Sl.
New Balance Rebel V5 Review: Design & Fit
The New Balance Ribel V5 is currently available in eight colors, including the ‘Angora with Earth Shadow and C Salt’ design.
I found that the shoe fits me well in the shape of its normal running shoes. It has a comfortable fit with quite wide toe-boxes, and a wide version of shoes is available when needed.
The shoe is at the forefront of a midsol stack height of 35 mm on the heel and 29 mm heel-to-foot finger. It is a high midsole than rebel V4 to increase underfoot comfort, and a wide base to ensure that it is a stable shoe.
Despite the significant amount of foam, the rebel V5 still has a very light shoe on 7.9oz my US Men’s Size 9.5 – which is much lighter than rivals daily trainers such as Asics Novablast 5 and Nike Pegasus 41.
Upper
The rebel V5 has a thin and breathable upper with little padding around the collar, but is more focused on being lighter than feeling very luxurious.
I still got upper comfortable for a long time, and fit during fast efforts. It is a great, simple upper upper that breathes well under warm conditions.
Midsol
The rebel V5 is made from a mixture of fuelsale midsole foam peba and EVA materials, as opposed to the full PEBA version of fuelcell used in New Balance SC Elite V5 – the flagship carbon plate racing shoe in the range.
This mixed foam is less spring than full-pay fuelsell, but it still has a slight bounce and saves a comfortable ride that protects the body from the effects of moving well
Exterior sole
The rebel is covered with a very thick layer of V5 and a very thick layer of heel rubber, and the foam is exposed in the midfoot, I have no concern about the durability of the shoes so far, no wear and tears even after walking on light trails in the shoes.
It is also well held for me during the test, although I am using it in summer and not to deal with any runs under wet or icy conditions.
New Balance Ribel V5 Review: Running Performance
It is rare as light as a shoe because the new balance rebel V5 is as stable and comfortable as it is, and as a result it is a highly versatile shoe.
I found it easy and long enough to hover it for a long time, where the wide base gives a safe and stable experience for riding.
Max-teaching shoes such as Asics Novablast 5 have even more foam underfoot, which may prefer some runners, but rebel V5 is definitely soft and comfortable that is sufficient for long races.
This is also lighter enough for fast workouts, although I would say that the design lends himself more for easy and stable runs than all-out speedwork.
This is because the foam in the midsol is not in that spring, it seems that it is designed to soak the effect of walking rather than being too sensitive.
Wide midsol also falls apart from how the rebel V5 feels agile during a fast run, and it does not have very aggressive windings such as Adidas Edizaro Evo SL, or early models of the rebel line.
This can certainly handle the tempo run and interval sessions and if you want a shoe running, it is all one of the better options on the market, but if you have a running shoe rotation, I will combine rebel V5 with more pace-focused shoes.
Should you buy a new balance ribel V5?
The New Balance Ribel V5 is a great daily trainer and will suit a wide range of runners thanks to its comfort and versatility.
Adidas Edizero Evo SL and Hoca Mach 6 are fast daily shoes, but they are not comfortable and stable as rebel V5.
Similarly, you can get a more thrilled daily trainer for additional comfort, such as Asics Novablast 5 or Hoka Clifton 10, but they are not as light and quick as rebels.
It is more comfortable than rebellious V4 for high midsol stacks, although if you look at old shoes in sales I still think it is worth considering because it is a similar ride for rebellious V5.
