Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller: One-minute review
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller launched along with the console, and I have been using it as my Go-to Switch 2 gamepad since Launch Day. While I was already influenced by a switch 2 hands-on preview event a few months ago, it was actually united as my favorite controller by being at home.
The mission statement is a simple: providing an updated version of the excellent nintendo switch pro controller – easily keeping in mind the best nintendo switch controllers for that original console – while keeping in mind the players keeping in mind that original model. I think it is mostly achieved with the Switch 2 Pro Controller.
It is incredibly comfortable in the hands, simply sporting beautiful construction quality from chassis to button. The thumbs are ultra-samuth and responsible, and at the back two rimpeplable buttons such as additions, as well as a headphone jack, are highly welcomed.
In addition, the original Pro Controller is remembered for its clearly absurd battery life, which lasts for about 40 hours on a charge. I am happy to report that the switch 2 is the same with the 2 Pro Controller; After three weeks of tests for a few hours, I have only seen a low battery warning on my screen.
So is it really catching back from being the greatest of all time? Well, unlike the original Pro Controller, this new model is not currently compatible with PC. It is likely that we will need to wait for a steam compatibility update, but I will not be surprised when this happens in the near future. I also preferred a trigger lock facility, allowing players to switch between digital and analog sensitivity, which suits a wide range of styles (analog triggers naturally work better for racing games, for example).
In the end, the nintending appears to be committed to having no effect thumbsticks, which is a matter of great shame. This means that, after all, I hope to develop a stick drift to the switch 2 Pro Controller. Perhaps not as quickly as Joy -Con 2 – of which already there are reports of users to experience flow – but for a controller, the more it costs, the more it costs, the stardier hall effect thumbsticks cause pain. Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Review: Design and Features

Switch 2 Pro Controller adds some very welcome facilities. There is a dedicated gamechat button like we see on Joy-C2 to reach the BESPOKE VOCE chat system of the console. Additionally, you are getting a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which – dangerously – was not present on the original Pro Controller. Finally, a pair of GL/GR button on the back of the pad can be remopped based on a per-game, although I will touch them more in the following performance section.
In the context of the look, the switch 2 pro controller is simple, but the beautiful eye catcher. The semi-transcendent look of the origin has been replaced with a matte black shell. Meanwhile, the top that gives home to bumper and trigger – as well as thumbstick shaft – has taken on a light brown coating that I think otherwise looks good against the all -data gamepad. I would not say that it is winning any award in the Department of Aesthetic, but it is a simple and elegant design that does not look out of place.
Otherwise, there is not much to report on the design front beyond the fact that it is an incredibly comfortable odd controller that sits firmly in the hands. I think Switch 2 Pro Controller’s grips are of an ideal size, and the pad is firmly set on the trigger with my index fingers in my hands. I also felt in this way about the original Pro Controller, but its successor finds a little more sophisticated in this regard.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller Review: Performance

Immediately, let’s talk about the thing that most people remember the original controller – it appears endless battery life. While there is no noticeable improvement here with the Switch 2 Pro Controller, I cannot say that this is a bad thing.
Yes, you can expect this new model to go a distance with about 40-45 hours of battery life. Since the launch, on average, I have played my switch 2 with the Pro Controller for about 1-3 hours daily.
Three weeks later, I only saw a low battery warning on my screen. It is a completely best-in-class battery life that also leaves the best nintendo switch controller in dust. It is worth noting that it takes some time to re -charge such a heavy battery – to be about 3-4 hours accurate – but do it overnight through USB -C and you will not need to worry about getting out of the juice.
Otherwise, there is just a pleasure to play games with Switch 2 Pro Controller. The thumbs here are the real heroes, feeling almost impossible and incredibly responsible during the game.
This makes it like accurate platforms Super Mario 3D World + Boser Fury Or like white knuckles F-Giro GX Feel fantastic to play (even though the latter still benefits more than the button layout of the wireless gamecube controller).
One of my grip here will be that there are no thumb hall effects, once again choose for more traditional potentials with nintendo. It is a disappointing commitment that we also see in their first-party pads from Sony and Microsoft, and as a result, it is difficult to gauge to gauge how long before the switch 2 Pro Controller’s rods grow. He said, the thumbs here at Joy-Con 2 definitely feel stronger than those, so I hope them will stay on a good deal for a long time.
However, I think my favorite addition to Switch 2 Pro Controller is to be the rear GL/GR button. We have seen a rimpable button on countless third-party controllers, but I really like how Nintendo has implemented them. By holding the home button during the in-game, you will bring a quick menu that lets you assign GL and GL and G as secondary input.
It works on a per-game basis, it means that when you are going from the game to the game, you do not need to re-hand them over. They can also be a complete spouse. In The Legend of Zelda: Tiers of the Kingdom, For example, I compel the sprint and jumping action for these buttons, which still makes me access to camera control.
Similarly, in Hyrule Warriors: Fixed Edition, Tie the left and right de-pad input to GL/Gr without moving or adopting a strange clan grip instead of cycling through your list of objects.

How I tested Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller
- Tested for three weeks, an average of 1-3 hours per day

I tested the switch 2 Pro Controller from the launch so far – a period of about three weeks. On average, I played with the controller for about one to three hours a day, selected for a dock mode play on my LG CX OLED TV on a large scale.
In my time with the controller, I put it with games in different types of styles through my pace. It also includes The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Higher Warriors: Fixed Edition, Mario Cart World, Street Fighter 6F-Zero GX, Delterune, And Super Mario 3D World + Bausar Fury.
I compared the features of the Switch 2 Pro Controller for the original Pro Controller and Third-Party gamepads, including gamer Tarantula Pro and the original 8bitdo ultimat. While I want Nintendo’s pad to bring the hall effect stick to the table, its overall feature set and a comfortable play experience is still worth considering in a crowded controller market.
