In an attempt to echo with young users amid the user’s fall, Tinder announced a new double date feature launch on Tuesday, which allows users to form teams with friends and chat together with potential matches.
The double date allows users to pair with a friend and browse through other coupled users who share at least one of their personal preferences, such as gender and sexual orientation. When a person receives a match in a pair, a group chat begins with all four participants. Users also have the option to like a personal profile within the match if they like to chat one by one. Users can invite three friends to join this new dating experience.
By encouraging users for double date with friends, this approach only is to reduce the pressure and anxiety associated with single dating, creating a more comfortable environment for everyone involved.
“In the initial testing, users constantly told us that they felt more comfortable to be their authentic self when they were connected as a pair with a friend, often causing strong engagement,” Cleo long, head of product marketing, told Techcrunch. “The group chat format helps in breaking the ice and makes it easy to plan for contingency meat, whether they develop friendship, romantic connections, or something in the middle.”
The launch of this new feature follows the original company of Tinder, Match groupReporting a 5% decline in customers paying, which fell to 14.2 million in its dating apps in the first quarter.
There may be an attempt to re -achieve these users, while also attracting new people. According to the company, the initial test results were promising, about 12% of the users who invited a double date, either new or returning users.
Additional internal data shows that individual users participating in double date chat sent 25% more messages than specific one-one conversations. The amount of message in these group chats was found 35% more, especially among users under the age of 29.
The double date feature was tested in select markets including Latin America, Spain and parts of Nordix. A global rollout of the feature has been determined for July.
