    NY Business Council reveals data violations affecting 47,000 people

    The New York State (BCNYS) Business Council has revealed that the attackers violating their network in February stole personal, financial and health information of more than 47,000 persons.

    As the state’s largest statewide employer association, BCNYS represents more than 3,000 member organizations, including Chambers of Commerce, Professional and Trade Association, and other local and regional business organizations, along with some largest corporations worldwide, which provide employment to more new yorkers than 1.2 million.

    according to a Filing with Main’s Attorney GeneralBCNYS is now probably probably informing 47,329 persons from this data violation that the attackers had access to their internal systems between 24 February to 25 February.

    The Business Council detected Breach about six months later, on August 4, and after an investigation into the effect of the incident, it was found that the danger actors had access and stole the files with personal, financial or medical information.

    “On detecting unauthorized activity, BCNYS immediately absorbed the incident and began a thorough investigation. As a part of the investigation, BCNYS led the cyber security professionals to secure the environment and leads out of cyber security professionals and to identify the scope of individual information, if anyone was involved, if anyone was involved,” Said this The affected persons were reconciled in the breech notification letters.

    “To date, we have no evidence of financial or medical fraud or identity theft related to this incident. Nevertheless, we will provide notice of incident to individuals whose personal information was potentially affected.”

    During the incident, the attackers stole full name, social security number, date of birth, state identity number, financial account, financial account and routing number information, as well as payment card number, payment card access pin, payment card expiry date, taxpayer identity number and combination of electronic signature information.

    BCNYS said that the health data exposed in the attack includes the name of the medical provider, medical diagnosis or status information, pamphlet information, medical treatment or procedure information and health insurance information.

    The Business Council will provide free credit monitoring membership to those whose social security numbers have been highlighted, and urged persons affected by this data violation to monitor their account details for their free credit reports for identity stolen efforts and suspected activity.

    The spokesperson of BCNYS was not immediately available for comment on contact by bleepingcomputer.
