OnePlus has launched five new products today, including a small version of the Midrangee Nord 5 phones and its Watch 3 wearing. The 43 mm edition of Watch 3 and New Buds 4 Yearbuds are the only new products launched in the US, of which others are going on sale in Europe and India.
Watch 3 43 mm actually seems to be: a more compact version of the existing OnePlusable, which was launched in only a single 47 mm option. This was the “Big Design Grip” with the original Watch 3 of my colleague Victoria song, so a fix is definitely welcome. The new version is not only very small, but also leaves angular elements around the rotating crown and button for a simple, circular design that is less specific, but which I definitely like.
The compact design, however, comes at the cost of the battery. OnePlus says that the new watch is 7 percent thin and 28 percent lighter than 3 origin, but the battery is only 50 percent of life. It is still 60 hours on typical settings, but a 120-hour battery is a crying far away from life which was the first time an important sales point. Despite using a very low bright performance, below 2,200 in the 47 mm model, with 1,000 NITs of peak shine.
As before, it runs on wear OS and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Jane 1 chipset with the second low-power chip to help with battery life. The breeding cycle also has some new features with trekking, and is an updated version of its “wellness” score that claims to use the barometer of the watch to measure your level of fatigue and as a result shows you a related emoji. Watch 3 43 mm is available for $ 299.99 from the OnePlus website from today – $ 100 less than the larger models – and will arrive on Amazon and Best Bye in August. In Europe it will set you back € 299 / £ 269.
The other US releases are the Bads 4, a new pair of inexpensive earbuds. Available in green or gray, they support both high-race and spatial audio, which are operated by dual 11 mm and 6 mm drivers in each bud. I am a fan of slightly concave touch control, making it easier to feel where you are to swipe and tap. Their price is $ 129.99 in the US and € 119 / £ 119 in Europe.
Nord 5 is the star of other launch, although it will not come in the US. This midrange phone launches for € 449 / £ 399 in Europe, which is powered by Snapdragon 8S General 3. There is a clear gaming focus, which has a 144hz OLED display, but also unexpectedly capable 50-megapixel selfie camera. This is one for children, I think.
It is a large phone, which has a 6.83-inch display, but it is relatively thin and light, so testing the phone from my time does not feel too heavy. It follows the Asia-Caval OnePlus 13S (known as 13T in China), leaving the company’s classic alert slider in favor of a new button, plus. It is perfectly adapable, but default triggers (you have estimated!) AI accessories. I am reviewing Nord 5 right now, so we will soon decide on the phone.
The Nord CE 5, € 349 / £ 299 has joined by the handset that looks similar but compromises in the board. It is a hair short, which has a 6.77 -inch screen, and a slow MediaTek Demishness 8350 for Apex chipset. The screen has a low resolution, refresh rate and peak brightness, and the camera space is also less impressive, although it contains at least 5,200mAh battery and 80W charging speed as Nord 5, and a similar promise of OS update of four years. If you can tolerate then I pay a little more for Nord 5.
Finally, the pad light is a cheaper on the OnePlus Tablet line-up. I am disappointed to see that it uses the ugly circular camera design of old pads (because the pad has recently turned to 3), but otherwise likes a lot for the price. It has an 11-inch, 2K display (although only 90Hz), and a decency has a 9,340mAh battery. This is just € 229 / £ 199, but an additional € 30 / £ 30 will net you more RAM, double storage and LTE support, which sounds like a bargain.
