OnePlus Nord 5, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, came as the successor of OnePlus Nord 4, which was introduced a year ago. This handset brings some significant improvement on its predecessor, including a more competent Snapdragon 8 series chipset and slightly better cameras. However, the mid-range segment is extremely competitive, especially around the rupee. 30,000 Marks, Poco F7, Motorola Edge 60 Pro, Samsung Galaxy A36 5G, IQoo NEO 10R, and anything with notable rivals with remarkable rivals.
Rupee. With 8GB RAM and 256GB storage for 31,999 base models, OnePlus Nord 5 is also available with 12GB RAM in 256GB and 512GB storage variants, priced at Rs. 34,999 and Rs. 37,999 respectively. In this review, let’s see if the handset is worth asking for its price or whether it is less than my expectations.

OnePlus 13S which came last month is now not the only handset to facilitate the new plus key from the company. This new button located on the left edge of the phone replaces the OnePlus alert slider, and has its own advantages and disadvantages. You can remap it to perform various tasks, including launching the plus mind feature, which we covered in our OnePlus 13S review. However, it is also easy to invite the plus key, if you are facing down while playing the game.

While in its predecessor, an aluminum chassis (which we really like), OnePlus Nord 5 has a glass rear panel with plastic edges, and the marble sands finish that the company sent us for this review, but looks good. It is slightly slippery to catch, so I used TPU cover to vessels with the phone to preserve it. The phone has a 6.83 inch screen, and sometimes it requires using both hands (I have quite large hands).
OnePlus Nord 5 has a 6,800mAh battery, but you will not be able to tell the phone, which does not look too heavy. Both power and volume rocker were easy to arrive with my thumb, but the plus is out of access to the plus key when using the phone with one hand. The top of the phone has an infrared transmitter that can control various devices, while the bottom edge is a speaker, SIM tray and a USB Type-C port.

OnePlus Nord 5 runs on Oxygenos 15, based on Android 15. It is the same software that runs on the company’s major OnePlus 13, and it also provides support for some AI characteristics that were unveiled with OnePlus 13. This phone is slapped to receive a four -year OS upgrade and a six -year security update, which means it is expected to receive an upgrade in Android 19.

I received the 12GB+256GB configuration of OnePlus Nord 5, and it is very adapted when it comes to the use of day to day. The animations are stagnant, and the handset holds apps and games in memory, even when you switch to four or five other apps, which is good to see. The handset inspired me to install some third-party applications during the setup process, including Amazon and Candy Crush: But it allowed me to surprise these apps.
The new plus key on OnePlus Nord 5 can be used to launch the company’s new OnePlus AI Suit of Features. This includes a new plus mind functionality, which saves relevant information from the screenshot whenever the plus key is pressed. Although it does not always detect actionable materials, some suggestions are quite easy, such as adding a calendar event when the date is detected.
AI facilities from OnePlus 13S are also available at Nord 5
Other OnePlus AI features, such as AI Vioceb, AI Call Assistant, and are also supported on AI Translation, OnePlus Nord 5. I have covered these apps and when I review the OnePlus 13S, how they work, and these are the same features available on that handset. You can use it to store information from apps, translate web pages using the pop-up menu, and get a summary of your call using the new Viocellic feature.
OnePlus said it would use the company’s private compute cloud to protect the user information provided to reach AI facilities within a reliable and separate structure. You also get support for circle to search with AI overview on Google and reach Google Gemini on OnePlus Nord 5.
OnePlus Nord 5 Performance: Last-Je

This is the company’s first Nord-series smartphone equipped with Snapdragon 8S General 3 chipset, and it is a notable upgrade on Snapdragon 7+ General 3 that operates last year’s Nord 4 model. It is an octa-core chip with 3GHz clock speed, and it is designed using TSMC’s 4Nm process technology.

OnePlus says the company used the chip launched in 2024 at Nord 5, as it worked with the company to support the 144Hz OLED screen and to support the fame rapidly in specific games. Although this may be the case, I suspect that this phone does not ship with the new Snapdragon 8S General 4 SoC (eg Poco F7), it is that it will offer a faster performance than the more expensive OnePlus 13R, which runs on the Snapdragon 8 General 3 chipset.
Snapdragon 8S General 3 on OnePlus Nord 5 is no slut, however. It can run any CPU and graphics intensive app or game, including editing and exporting 4K videos, or playing games such as Vuttering Waves and Call of Duty: Mobile. Oxygenos feels customized, and I did not experience any stutter or interval during the time when I tested the phone.

OnePlus Nord 5 has a 6.83-inch Full-HD+ (1,272 × 2,800 pixels) with the AMOLED screen on OnePlus Nord 5, a step from last year’s model. OnePlus states that the display 1,800nits supports the shine of the peak, and the visibility is good during the outside. It also becomes quite slow at night, without stress in the eyes.

I switch to all the phones that I use in a “standard” display color mode, and the panel on OnePlus Nord 5 provides less vibrant (but more accurate) color when using this mode, so you may want to choose a cinematic option instead. The handset display also has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i -Protection, but I recommend using it with the cover involved to prevent damage to the rear panel.

I tested the cameras about a month on the OnePlus Nord 5, and the most capable of the 50-megapixel primary camera handset. This allows you to click on images on 1x and 2x (the latter is an in-sensor crop) zoom level, and optical image stabilization (OIS).

During the day, OnePlus Nord captures 5 bright and wide shots, and the colors are accurately captured. There is no noticeable delay when pressing the capture button, and the images are immediately saved. It is the same Sony Lyt-700 primary sensor at OnePlus 13S, and it offers similar levels on 2x zoom for subjects that are slightly ahead.
In low-light scenarios, it captures decent shots as long as your subject still remains. When you zoom in, there is also a lot of expansion. The built-in night mode captures images in only one second, and it can be closed for sharp shots.

Ultravide camera on OnePlus Nord 5 also offers decent performance during the day, with minimal war on the edges. Low light performance is not as good as primary camera, but these shots are still quite useable until your theme is moving forward.
For video recording, you may want to live with primary camera on OnePlus Nord 5, which allows you to record at 4K/60fps. However, if you want to enable ultra stedy mode, it falls up to 1080p/30fps, which is also the maximum resolution supported by the ultravide camera.
Samsung isocell is a 50-megapixel selfie camera at Nord 5 with JN5 sensor. It is excellent to capture images and videos, and face smoothing features are closed by default. This also allows you to capture videos at 4K/60fps or 1080p/30fps, if you like to use ultra stedy mode.
OnePlus Nord 5 Battery: Welcome Upgrade

OnePlus has equipped Nord 5 with a much larger single-cell 6,800mAh battery, upgraded to its predecessor to 5,500mAh cells. With efficient Snapdragon 8S General 3 chip, this battery can deliver one day and a half. During the time when I spent using a smartphone, it included a three -hour gaming, a lot of scroll through social media, watching videos on YouTube and texting on WhatsApp.
OnePlus Nord 5 Saves Battery Life on the same charge in one and a half days
The handset lasted 27 hours and 15 minutes during our HD video battery loop test, and PCmark Work 3.0 Battery Life during the life benchmark up to 14 hours and 26 minutes. This is a synthetic test, and the use of real-world battery will vary depending on your use. The OnePlus Nord 5 takes a full fee of about 58 minutes to 63 minutes, when it is connected to the 80W Supercock Charging Adapter.
OnePlus Nord 5: Decision
With meaningful upgrades on your predecessor, one of the better options to choose from OnePlus Nord 5 is if you want to spend around the rupee. 30,000 on your next smartphone. This provides support for reliable CPU and camera performance, and long-lasting battery life as well as fast charging. I miss the all-metal design of the OnePlus Nord 4, but the latest model provides sufficient in terms of upgradation around the same price.

The Poco F7 is the largest rival for OnePlus Nord 5, and is equipped with a more powerful Snapdragon 8S General 4 chip and a large 7,550mAh battery. However, I would recommend waiting for our review of the handset to see if its camera performance is equal to Nord 5.
Other handsets worth considering this price section include Motorola Edge 60 Pro, Eku Neo 10, Vivo V50 (Review), and Samsung Galaxy A36. You can also consider Samsung Galaxy S24 Fe, which is often Rs. Falls under 35,000 mark.
