Openai’s next basic model is GPT-5, and AI startup is expecting that the model will compete a little more with rivals.
But speaking AI summit In Mexico, two Openai Representative Confirmed This GPT-5 is actually coming and it will be much better than the current Openai model.
Openai is still working on GPT-5 and does not know how much its cost will be, but it does not seem that it will be “cheaper”, likely it is likely to mention the current GPT-4 model.
In addition, an Openai representative said they expect to compete a little more with GPT-5 without providing details.
“We hope that we will be able to compete a little more with GPT-5,” one of Openai representatives said.
It seems that the company is referring to competition from new models such as Gemini 2.5 Pro and Cloud 4, which is better than GPT in coding.
Depending on what I have heard, the GPT-5 is still expected to ship for some time in summer, but ever since we are talking about Openai, plans are always subject to change.
If the GPT-5 does not appear to meet the internal performance goals, it may take some time to roll out, but for now, July is actually the target.
Openai signal in GPTS upgrade
As I mentioned earlier, Openai plans to upgrade GPTS at some point in future.
For those unknown people, GPT was unveiled a year ago, and it is a new way for anyone to create an analog version of Chatgpt to be more personal.
At the AI Summit, Openai suggested that GPT may be better soon.
The company said, “We always change the strategy of GPT and how we can do … and how to work and implement these GPTs,” the company said.
“I just recommend starting with chat because I think the world of GPTS is going to change in the coming months.”
In addition to GPTS, Openai is working on a better version of the operator (AI agent), but it is not clear when it will be rolled for everyone.
