Openai CEO Sam Altman Told reporters This GPT-6 is already in work, and it will not be longer as GPT-5.
The GPT-6 declaration does not surprise me because Openai is gradually becoming a product-first company rather than research-focused.
No one is denying that Openai’s CEO Sam Altman overheps GPT-5 and undertaked the underarrous.
While the GPT-5 is not bad at all and provides significant improvement on GPT-4 or O3 for coding, the rollout was not smooth and some people were expecting more than gradual improvement.
Openai CEO believes that the company would improve next time and GPT-5 was not really as bad as some people claimed.
“I like the new one much better,” Altman told reporters last week.
“Openai quietly pushed a tone update for GPT-5 which is’ very hot.”
Openai admitted that the GPT-5 rollout was not really well thought out, but it would not be prevented from releasing the GPT-6 to the company.
Sam said that GPT-6 will be large and different, but it is not the only product coming from Openai.
For example, Openai is testing the improvement for voice mode and will allow you to customize the speed.
Openai is also testing a new version of Codex that will allow you to enable the code reviews for all PRS.
