Openai made a major upgrade for just a chatgpt discovery, and this is a bold step towards separation of traditional search engines.
Now available, the new version of the Chatgpt Search can explain more complex questions, run multiple search queries at a time and even handle the visual inputs such as screenshots.
Combined with better memory and voice tools in GPT-4o, it is starting to look a lot such as All-Purpose Search Assistant is trying to create Google, but in chatbott form.

Chatgpt Search and Google AI take different approaches to answer questions.
Google AI overview draws from existing web materials to generate summary answers at the top of the search results, often websites are quoted or contradicted.
In contrast, the Chatgpt discovery mixes AI-borne responses with live web results from reliable sources, providing a more condensed experience.
While Google is in favor of brevity and directness, Chatgpt provides more reference, privatization and logic. Chatgpt also allows follow -up questions in a chat format, making it more interactive.
Google is still a traditional search engine in which AI is layered on top – Chatgpt is re -discovered through interaction.
What’s new in search of chat
The search for upgraded chat now provides:
- Better understanding of long, complex questions
- Many search for better accuracy passes behind the curtain
- Increased reactions based on up-to-date information
- Visual input capabilities where you can upload a picture or screenshot for clever analysis
So far, I have also seen cleaner north, low hallucinations and rapid response on time as well. As a power user with Chatgpt Plus, I have seen a major change because GPT-4O is capable by default.
With every indication, the reactions feel faster and more confident, at least the filler or the other-union.
It is as if the model knows what I am asking before finishing typing, which is the memory upgrade in the chatgipt plus without any doubt.
Chatgpt search is free for all, but plus, team and pro users can also experience more of a streamlined search than those using free tier.
Why does it matter
Google Search still dominates traditional questions, especially for quick facts, maps, shopping or local recommendations. Environmentally, it uses low energy, which is why it can be a better option for small questions.
But if you want any of the following, then the discovery of chat is just more competitive:
- Help in thought churning ideas
- Intensive research
- Cross-subject synthesis
- Visual or relevant analysis
And while openi says that it is “not trying to kill Google,” CEO Sam Altman admitted earlier this year that he no longer use Google. Not in this sub-statement, the CEO has made it clear that the habits of search are transferring.

Ground level
Chatgpt Search has become a legal discovery partner. More than a chatbot with search capabilities, AI has the ability to understand what you are really asking and how it is best to answer.
While Google is still a default for millions, the recent update of Openai shows that the tech veteran is targeting high and getting closer to Google.
