OT Security: Why does it pay to see open source

OT security as a strategic success factor

Digitalization and networking in industrial production has made operational technology security an important issue for companies. Production data, SCADA system (supervisory control and data acquisition) and network machines are essential in many industries and are extremely weak for cyber attacks. A phenomenon can not only cause production downtime and iconic damage, but also for life-drank conditions, for example in significant infrastructure.

At the same time, budget and cost pressure scenario are increasing: trade tariffs, short -term work or the threat of economic uncertainties are making it difficult to invest in expensive OT security solutions. Accordingly, the question of cost-skilled options is coming out.

Thanks to the OT Safety-Opening-SOS option at the highest level

Commercial OT as nozomi networks for IOTs, DarkTrace, Forescout or Microsoft Defenders promises a wide range of OT security solution tasks, but is often associated with license costs in the middle of the high six-end range per year. Such high investment is difficult to justify internal, especially in financially difficult times.
