- Panasonic Lats Note SC weighs under one kilo, yet a removable battery and gigabit lan packs
- A 56WH battery organized by the screw is included, which lasts for 34.6 hours
- Unusual round touchpad returns, now bigger and borrowed from 14-inch siblings model
Panasonic has introduced a 12.4 -inch notebook, latest note SC designed for professional users with focus on portability, long battery life and purposeful growth.
As Meenvi (Originally reported in Japanese), the device has a 12.4 -inch LCD display with a 3: 2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels.
The screen opens up to 180 degrees without touching the surface below it, aid by a hinge design that keeps it slightly elevated.
Weighs less than one kilo and still Ethernet and HDMI
The chassis has a pressure resistant bonnet structure and has been tested to meet MIL standards.
Panasonic emphasizes the durability of the notebook, including resistance to both effects and vibrations.
Available in cool gray and black, the core ultra series of Intel based on SC configuration is powered by the processor, either Ultra 7 255H or Ultra 555U.
Panasonic claims that the notebook weighs 919G, although an independently tested unit allegedly came to 901G, which holds the SC between the lightest laptops in its orbit.
The device includes 56Wh removable battery, which is now fastening with screws rather than tool-less sliding locks used in the previous model. While it improves structural integrity, it can make the maintenance of the region less convenient.
According to the Xiata 3.0 standards, the battery performance has been rated for 12.7 hours of video playback and a passive time of about 34.6 hours. In real -world use, 50% charge after 90+ minutes of mild use and 30 min video calls.
The keyboard retains a Japanese layout, but introduces a remarkable change: the CTRL key is now far to the left, on the posts swapped with FN key. Users can return to the previous configuration via BIOS settings.
The power button, which is now located behind the keyboard, is less prone to casual press and also acts as a fingerprint sensor.
The SC also includes a round touchpad, larger than the earlier models and borrowed from the 14-inch FC line. While still unconventional, it is a distinctive feature of circular design chain.
Connectivity includes a gigabit ethernet lan port, appealing to those seeking a rare inclusion and potentially strong mobile workstation capabilities in modern laptops.
However, the D-app and SD card slots have been removed, which reflects the user’s trend towards HDMI and increases data security standards.
Most ports, including USB Type-A, Dual Thunderbolt 4-Sangat USB Type-C, and HDMI, are now deployed to the left, which helps reduce cable dislocation when using the mouse.
The initial price is around 295,000 yen (about $ 1,880), with general sales expected to start from June 20.
